I was signed up with Nissan for updates on the new Frontier, in June they sent me an "update" about the Frontier and also some gibberish about some alphabet soup crap I don't want to be lectured about. I immediately clicked "unsubscribe" and wrote off the option of a new Nissan.

I don't get it either. I have no beef if a company wants to donate to a cause, promote whoever internally, but proclaiming polarizing statements in advertisements and press releases...sheesh..
I get the feeling that no one will become a *new* customer based on a socio-political statement, but a few people will write off a company.

Its too bad the squeeky wheel gets the grease in some cases. Somehow it became offensive to keep your mouth shut so all these companies pandering to the loud like yelling somehow made an opinion into a fact. Still 1st in line for a tundra prime at 2 dealerships though. I need my eco tank to get me out AND back, so its gotta be a Toyota.

Several companies have lost me after bringing their political views into my life, not because I disagreed with them, just because I didn't want to hear about it.

I do not have a picture but the roofing company I use had at least one fleet Tundra and I talked to the guy about it. His was second gen and he said 6 months ago and he loves it and they are getting a new one. I always talk to him about his Tundra when he comes.

I have heard that the Tundra is very popular as a fleet/work vehicle on oil fields.

I believe at least one of the “million mile” Tundras was a hot shot delivery driver for oil fields. But haven’t seen or heard of actual drilling companies using them.

Up here none of the oil companies use them on the North Slope, nor do any other construction / government / businesses in south central Alaska. I have seen some private contractors use them tho.

Heck, a couple of the local Autozone / O’Reily auto stores actually have 3 or 4 Frontiers as their fleet trucks.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one here in Texas. It’s HD gas trucks and usually ford or Chevy

It's almost all Ford and GM/Chev with the occasional Ram for fleet vehicles in the Alberta oil/gas patch. Tundras are starting to show up more but as the trucks the consultants and foremen drive, the guys who buy their own truck. The grunts gets the domestics. That said, the security company at the project I'm on has a fleet of Tundras.

Yes, the owners just choose to or forget to use them a lot. I hate being lumped in with the morons. My family always comments on Toyota drivers.

So my theory is that Toyotas last so long that there is definitely a higher percentage of Toyotas on the road, therefore there is a higher chance of more morons driving Toyotas than other brands. :burp:

Toyota does have a great reputation for longevity. Yet my family has had Fords and GM trucks that lasted 300k+ miles with hardly any issues. Not sure on your theory. But I like it.

My dad had a 2003 F350 crewcab dually with an 8' bed. The turning radius was perhaps the most awful I will ever see in my life.

I parked at the far end of the parking lot everywhere I drove it because it required a 20 point turn to get out of a parking spot if you had to back out with the spots on each side of you filled.

Just get something! Take a shit or get of the pot. Or go sit on a different pot since you are considering a 22.

That’s why you always back into parking spots :D my first truck was a 2003 crew cab 8’ super duty so I learned real quick. Only downside is that I absolutely suck at pulling into parking spots forward since I pretty much have just backed into spots my whole life.

This is the truth! I drove many Super Dutys personally and for work. Backing into spots is the only way. I still do it now. My wife laughs because I cant even park her car straight pulling into a spot.

That only happened to me once. It was at a Papadeaux's parking lot near Houston. I was home for a visit after being a way for a while and it was the first day that I'd ever driven a dually.

It took me about 15-20 minutes to get out of that parking spot. I was away from everyone when I parked and had a suburban parked closely on each side when I came out to leave.

Swinging around the back end of a longbed dually like that is a chore if you don't have much space to work with.

I think the only major company I've seen with Tundras is Sterling Crane. But I'm sure they make so much money they don't mind the extra up front price for their pickups.

    Went to Germany, rented car…

“Oh, you’re American you must not have meant to rent a manual transmission let me put you in an automatic.”

I politely ask for the manual and the guy goes cross eyed.

Eventually I got my manual but I’m pretty sure he was stuck on the idea that I couldn’t drive it.
