Only problem with that is the raptor is about the most useless pickup if you actually use your truck. Off road it’s great, otherwise it’s just a status symbol like most of them are anyways.

The F-150 has 3 frames available, the difference being the thickness/gauge. It's pretty confusing, the F-150 forums cover it pretty well, but IIRC the PB F-150 is using the middle option frame, and it does lose a significant bit of capacity, but it's not 500 pounds when compared to a truck with the same frame. I think the PB option is about -300 pounds.

I'm okay reading all the negative comments from current owners on the looks/engine/big screen/whatever. Maybe that means I will have my choice of colors when the 22's hit the lots...:fingerscrossed:

The engine alone is 480lb ft at those rpm range, the electric motor is about 80hp/160lb ft, the beauty of this combo is the motor has max torque at 1rpm, so when you leave the line, you probably have 300lbft of torque from the moment your right foot is off the brake pedal, 1st 2nd and 3rd will probably used to accelerate from stop to 25mph, while the engine barely revs past 1500rpm but with combine torque of almost 400lb ft.

Was just going off the specs found on their website - CCSB 4x4 with 3.5 EB or 3.5 PB, and a few other options. Each time it was 500 lbs less in payload capacity.

There is nothing wrong with a double cab. Having a crew cab does not make you better or "more legit". If I wanted to label as you do I could call the double cab the "soccer mom" but I do not need to label to feel better about myself. :bucket:

The wife wants to ditch our car now. There's a '21 Platinum for 56k a few hours away, should I do that until the 2022 bugs are done or just hold out? Other option is a local F150 Lariat. But idk much about the F150 and their redesign seems to have some issues too. And their V8 is hit or miss on oil consumption.

I'd jump on that platinum! You know what your getting and you know the resale will be strong, so either you keep it long term for the v8 or trade in a few years and get a good return.

If you don’t “have” to buy something right now and just “want” to buy something. I’d wait until this time next year. Simple supply and demand situation. Inventory will be up next year across most brands which should lead to increased incentives. Basically any purchase right now is a losing situation when it comes to price. Unless you have that sentimental feelings towards a 14 yo truck, get the Platinum.

I agree, the bottom is about to fall out of the automotive market, they are going to have to dump way too much inventory at the same time on the market. And if they don't get some of it dumped in the next couple of months there is going to be a TON of 2021 vin numbers dumped on dealer lots from multiple brands. I know people say that toyota does not have this issue, but the market will force them to address this issue to keep up their own sales numbers.

It is definitely a sellers market right now, but the buyers market is right around the corner for more than just cars.

If I needed to buy something until the bugs were worked out of the 2022 I would buy a used tundra (if it needed a full size) probably high mileage used (under 20K) if for no other reason than risking taking a bath on a new one.

The Fords are doing fine. They fixed the 5.0L oil issue a while back and I believe it only affected 18s and 19s anyway. They did add cylinder deactivation to the 21 5.0L though. The only other issue is the rust on the rear axle and diff but there are easy homebrew fixes for that too.

One of the lesser known youtube guys (THIS ONE) thinks Toyota is going to keep the 8 cylinder but with improvements. He feels since the big 3 still offer it, Toyota would be nuts to get rid of it. Who knows, he could be way off.

I don't have to have it right now. Just would be nice to trade in the lease that's offering me $4-5k in upside value right now.

Can someone answer this reply from the dealer. I inquired to their online price and on top of a bunch of other crap they added like $1200 freight charge for this reasoning. Am I wrong or doesn't the original window sticker charge of $1695 cover all the shipping to port for options too ?

"Hello, no it is at our dealership now, the Freight is what they charge to get it from the port in Houston, for example, it was built in San Antonio and then shipped to the port in Houston where they may add or take off certain options per the dealer or customer, it is then shipped to our dealership from there"

I wouldn't even get into the weeds on that, just stick with out the door pricing at $56k. They'll say they can't do that, but like you said your not in a rush to buy.

Just for my own sanity, the original charge covers all that right. I see people with new builds following theirs from SATX to Houston port for install and then delivery.

Just more stupid slimeball tricks. Don't fall for it. Don't pay MSRP or over. I'm seeing near normal build times in this thread alone. We're over the hump. Chips are shipping. Companies are getting caught up. Dealers are milking this for all it's worth but their cow is about empty ... unless you fall for their nonsense. Yes, many dealer lots are thin but they don't have a line of people there either, except for some pockets here and there which make it newsworthy. I'm not trying to slap rose colored glasses on everyone but I am trying to take the dark blue ones off of some because there is light at the end of the tunnel and we're almost through it.

MSRP covers everything to the original dealer, if the dealer adds something after delivery that is not included, if the dealer trades with another dealer the cost associated with transporting the trade is not included in MSRP.

The shipping charge on the door sticker is the only one that should be one it. If there is anything added beyond that sticker then it's just a "market adjustement" (read: price gouge) under a new name.

You'd get a kick out of the price on a Lunar Rock TRD Pro in CA I got quoted. Brand new LR TRD Pro, had a few options like the bed liner and inlay. Asking $79.9k.
