I agree it's an odd Canadian thing where Toyota and Nissan trucks demand a premium price over Domestics. Their prices and financing rates are higher. I looked at a new P4X and based on their price and attitude I actually said why would I buy this truck over a Tundra and walked out. Hence this is the Titans last year available here.

On topic, all the uncertainty of details, waiting, and delays forced me to make a decision and get a 2021. If I knew what was or wasn't going to be available in the next gen and knew some timelines, maybe I would have waited for it. I'm still excited to see it, but less stressful that I have time and can watch it all unfold with a bird in hand.

I'm not seeing the price difference on the Tundras. When I was shopping in 2019, MSRPs were:

    Tundra SR5: $53k
    F150 XLT: $55k
2018 Sierra SLE (leftover on the lot): $63k
    2019 Sierra SLE: $58K

And actual prices out the door would have been:

    Tundra SR5: $45k
2018 Sierra SLE (leftover on the lot): $47k
2019 Sierra SLE: $55k (I had preferred pricing through my employer so this was supposedly invoice plus 10% or whatever that offer was supposed to be)

Yup. I wouldn’t want a 2021 release anyhow. Even with my late model 2021 f150 so many things have been worked out, and changed during this early production cycle.

the September 2022 tundra will be MINT

I think it is the opposite - They add additional luxury trim so that they don't have to raise the price of the base models. The luxury trim models kind of subsidize the base models. If you look at the other brands, you can buy a base model truck for $35,000, and the almost exact same truck (frame, body etc) with leather and a few bells & whistles sell for $70,000. Imagine the profit on that.

I am just as excited and curious about the new model, but Toyota has no obligation or need to release anything yet. It is a 2022 model. We are not even halfway through 2021. Even though we are curious and excited about it, Toyota is not late releasing anything.

Except that for some reason car manufacturers have decided that next year's model typically starts selling in about September.

I never understood releasing details in January/February for models that go on sale in August/September. It's so far out that if someone needs a vehicle at release they can't wait until sale date, and those in the market just before sale date will have missed the hype. I think it should be 3-4 months prior to models being on the lot that they get released. So if we get details soon on sale date of mid-late October would be good

There were rumors Toyota was producing a new Tundra for a couple of years. I know Toyota is not obligated to do anything, they are in charge. They can do whatever they want. I did not say Toyota was late to “release” the truck. I would like to know what the truck looks like. I want to know what is new. I want to know the trucks statistics, so I can decide to purchase a 2021 or 2022. Piece-mailing the release is just irritating. When my son was a kid I told him when we went to the store I would buy him something he wanted. When we eventually went to the store, and he reminded me about the item he wanted, I wasn’t obligated to buy him shit. I could have had a myriad of excuses why I was not buying the item, but I’m a man of my word. When you wrote Toyota was not late releasing anything I think it’s subjective. Google 2022 Ford, Chevrolet, General Motors and Ram. When you get your results, compare them to what you know about the 2022 Tundra, and ask yourself who is “late releasing” their models.

Dreamer, I have to agree with you there. I am on the fence waiting to see if I am pulling the trigger on a 2021 now, or holding off for the 2022 depending on the specs and such. It has been frustrating waiting and only getting these little "teasers" now and then. I was especially disappointed last week with the Toyota showcase telling us we have to wait a little longer. I feel at this point they could at a minimum show us the full exterior.

I have heard that today, June 17th, is a dealer reveal of the Tundra. Obviously I have no confirmations but some YouTube Toyota dealers were hinting at it. I hope one may leak out some pics. Anyone else hear this rumor as well?

We would probably be seeing a different marketing strategy without the nation wide shortage of vehicles. Secondly, read some other blogs on Lexus mechanics commenting on this TTV6. Many are not positive. Some say absolutel nightmare. This could be the reason why the past couple of weeks I’ve been seeing more marking on Toyota service and quality of dealership mechanics. Trying to combat the naysayers before this new Tundra TTV6 is released. ;)

I've heard the rumor of a reveal for today for about a month?
I would think that if they have a world beater they would reveal it soon to lure potential buyers of other trucks to Tundra.
Something tells me they have a V8TT mild hybrid as a second engine option.
The first engine will be a V6TT "mild" hybrid with maybe an option to not have hybrid V6TT?

No way they have an 8. Just no way, when unloaded, to make it fuel efficient. I’ll guess v6tt and they will go straight to a v6tt hybrid plug in.

If the dealer reveal is true we'll have information by this evening. If they think they can make a buck by letting out info, they'll do it.

Yes, it is. That was posted up back on page 198 or 199 a couple days ago. Supposedly a dealership is saying that they will be releasing more info today. Not holding my breath.

Well sorry, I did not mean to get you mad or anything. GMC is also bringing out a new 2022 model and there is less information available on that than on the Tundra. Ford has a F-250 update, with almost no information available. But it was just a general statement. Like I said I did not mean to ruffle feathers; just my take on it. Sometimes people act like they need everything to happen their way and their timeframe, and my viewpoint is that they can do their marketing whichever they want to. They don't owe me anything.
But that's just my opinion and perspective.

I think GMC went quiet on their refresh because I don't think it's happening. I think they're pushing that refresh from the shortage. Right now, 2021 builds are coming without auto start / stop and no tech and driver assist packages due to the shortage.

Not sure how many have watched this video but I'd venture to guess with the similarities in the hood/headlights and overall shape we've seen from the teaser ad including the info on the engine(s) options this should give some pretty good indicators into what we might see in the look, handling and powertrain department for the new Tundra.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64T0jAm055I

Screengrab of the front end of the new LandCruiser gives similar queues to the potential tundra front end. Same hood shape/style (albeit probably smaller in dimensions) and a more upright windshield angle. Nonetheless a pretty good looking front end.

I’m trying to figure out what the big 3 are going to do with all their 2021’s that are parked everywhere waiting on parts. They just keep building them and parking them until parts are available. I have no idea how they get themselves out of that hole. What a mess. Thanks Shina!

GM is just doing a mid-cycle refresh, though, not releasing a new gen.

I'm not sure what that means? LandCruisers have probably been one of the most capable any terrain vehicles built since the 50s. An Escalade probably wouldn't make it to the parking lot of the airport for some of the most extreme conditions and terrain most of these LandCruisers drive through. They just don't offer/sell this series in the US.
