8 images, first one released. if toyota release an image every 2 weeks that put us at reveal time of about september, sounds about right for the reveal date. but it sucks how long toyota is taking to release info on new truck.

Pretty much. I won't say I won't get one, but they're going to look like damn fools if they get up to September and.....

Folks are saying that’s the color used to identify high voltage under the hood and also the “Max” has a blue outline which would suggest a hybrid

I gotta tell ya though, that's a nice looking engine cover. :D It'll hold my quarts of oil nicely after I'm out of free dealer oil changes.

I’d say that looks like a 2nd Gen front end. I may be wrong though

I can't wait for them to release so we can get all of the bashing over with and then in 14 years everyone will love it and not want the next Gen to be released.

It will go the same as the third gen Tacoma. lots of bashing. Lots of guys saying the sales will tank and then guys will buy one, talk trash, sell it, buy a duramax and stick around just to talk trash about how bad it is. They will say how bad the reliability is. ThIs iS a cAr eNgInE. Oh, and it will probably sell more than current Tundra ever did.

Can I spot what's coming? Yeah. More street tires and flimsy skid plates on "Offroad" trim trucks. Although that image looks like an awful lot like a 2nd gen front end.

It does look similar, but the LC badge on top says "twin turbo" where the tundra "I-Force Max". I'd guess the Max is just the hybrid version, but who knows

Here's one from another angle posted the same day on autoevolution, but it's a lower resolution rendering from a graphics program. The other image is likely also a graphics program rendering, just higher resolution.

You can tell that it's a rendering because the power steering pump is missing, but the belt still follows the same path as if it's still there.

You forgot the rampant speculation that Toyota threw the design together last minute, and will replace the complete failure of a powertrain within 5 years or lose all sales....

Yeah. I think the relevant part of the comparison is that the engine is likely a V6 since the basic size and shape of the two covers are so similar.

    PLUS they copied Ford. ;)

I have to admit I chuckle at that one. Apple gets accused of copying Android all the time....I mean, it's working out fairly well for them. *le shrug*

Someone said somewhere that "I don't just want a Toyota copy of an Ecoboost but with reliability." Actually....while sure, I'd like more HP/TQ (who the hell wouldn't?), that is EXACTLY what I want. A TT V6, but without having to buy a Ford? Yes please.
