Nobody is as putzy releasing info and actually releasing a promised vehicle as JEEP.

I think I waited 7 years for the diesel to be offered in the Grand Cherokee and 18 years for the Jeep pickup to actually come out.

Jeep:”hey do you guys want us to make a slightly longer grand Cherokee that costs like $80,000?”

    Jeep fans:”uhh, no?”

Jeep:”we’re gonna bring back the wagoneer namesake and slap it on there too. Cool?”

Oh, wait a min... Don’t want to be a keyboard commando tuff guy.....

There is a concept competition vehicle that was a real old design that’s comparable to a Jeep. Not that there is acronym that comes to mind, yet well- I’ll keep that fun to myself.

Read what I said moron. I said to say that to the next 10 people in a Ford to see what happens to test it out. Because if you came up to me and said that then I would do that. Read more carefully. Are you the kid in school they got picked on all the time? And now that you have a keyboard you pretend like your balls are as big as your mouth and fingers?

I have a f350. I’m not offended. They’re junk. But so are the GMC, Chevy and Rams.

Adding fuel to the fire. I'll back out depending how the 2022 Tundra turns out, but I have a 2022 F250 Lariat with the Tremor package on order. If the Tundra gets revealed as a $55k 25mpg 450hp tall car with a bed, 5" of ground clearance and a payload capacity equivalent to a Honda Civic I'll roll my dice on my first ever domestic vehicle. The 7.3 V8 seems dependable enough. 2nd gen 10-speed transmission apparently has some kinks worked out. But getting a rig from the factory with 35's, rear locker, small lift (albeit blocks in the rear) 2900+lb of payload and 15k of towing is nice.

Seeing what Toyota has done of late and with this most recent press day I just feel like they're focusing on a demographic that isn't the average person on this forum. MPG and technology over off-road capability and being a "truck". I would be SO happy to be proven wrong, I'm just not holding my breath.

The Tremor package F250 gasser is really cool. I think they look great. I’m already a fan of the skinny 35s (285/75R18s) that come on it. But I just wouldn’t trust that truck as far as I could throw it, and I certainly wouldn’t take it out of cell service for off-roading and dispersed camping. Also, it’s HUGE. How many guys are gonna go off on tight trails in the woods with that wheelbase and turning radius? The Tundra is big enough.

A new Tundra that gets 25ish on the highway, has close to 2k payload, and can pull 12k+ while maintaining Toyota reliability would be a home run.

Imagine a half-ton truck that can do everything an F150 says it can do, maybe even a bit better, and still get to 300k+ miles without any issues doing it. Remember how Toyota blew everyone away with the last new Tundra (this was in 2007, not 2014)? I think it’s gonna be great. We’re all just getting understandably grumpy waiting on ANY real info.

23 MPG I would be buying one as soon as it comes out, but must have the same towing capacity the V-8 does or better and thinking it will be better too.

That's a good looking truck, my buddy has 2 of them that same style. Here is mine.
    Snapchat-1297751486.jpg

Gotta convert it to 4wd once I can source all the parts cheap enough. It's great for hauling full sheets of plywood and hauling large amounts of stuff in the bed. And the torque is crazy. It has the best cruise control I've ever used as well. The speed you set it at is constant with no excessive engine revving even on hills. And keeps the same speed on hill descents as well. She's close to 296k and doesn't leak a drop of anything.

Sumo- I respect that. I may joke along with Ford bashing, yet it’s all in good fun. Your truck is a class act! Really nice.... Shows that not only the rice burners can get longevity.

Water off a ducks back. I bash ford's too even though I own one. I know that mine is one of the good ones. The newer ones are hit or miss. My f250 gets 18-20mpg running 75mph on cruise. I've had older f150s with the 4.9 straight 6 as well. Bulletproof engine, especially mated to the granny 4 speed. I did blow up one 4.9, but it took 8 hrs of driving, in the middle of summer, from lousiana to Georgia, with zero oil pressure. Those engines are tough. I really miss my 83 f150. I'd love to find another bull nose. I'll try to get pics later

One of my Scout leaders had one. Crew cab, long bed. But you couldn't actually carry much in it because of the fifth wheel hitch. We really had to Tetris all the gear for our little troop to go camping into it. He accidentally rolled it backwards into the ocean while launching his boat one time so it was a little humid. Had to use a screwdriver to start it.

The 7.3 is a pushrod and once the typical ford one to two year bugs get worked out. It's gonna be a great motor. But will always be thirsty. Who cares?!

I was going to ask why they have so many issues with the 5.0 but it's an OHC engine.

Maybe they should bring back the 300 ci I6.

Ha! I had one in high school. It was a two wheel drive, shit brown, three on the tree, 31 foot long or longer:D extra cab. Bullet proof! Yeah I'm excited about the Godzilla motor despite it's early teething problems. Glad Ford came out with that

I have a fifth wheel hit h for mine, but haven't used it yet. Believe or not, everything on this truck works perfectly like it was new, from the power windows/locks, cruise control, etc. Bought it from a 78 year old man in 2015, had 181k miles on it, and was a garage kept since 2001. I have every service record from 2001+. Only paid $5600 :D still has the original E4OD trans that shifts great, I change the trans fluid every 30k. I run schaeffers oil and fluids from to back. Every bushing underneath, including body mounts, was replaced with energy suspension poly bushings. That was one hell of a job! Just need a new steering box for it. And a bed now that a tree fell on it :bananadead:
