When I se the prices of Fords at the dealer I had no reason to doubt what he said he paid. What is the difference if he lied about PRICE, its DEAD and left him stranded in Fresno! What is your point?
I paid 8200 on a 10600 sticker as a kid on an 85 toy 4x4 does that pass your price test? I brought a home a 2021 Longbed 4X4 SR exactly a month ago, how much was that?

$70k trucks didn’t exist in 2008, especially diesels during the recession and diesel was $4-$6 a gallon at that time. If he got 9 years out of a 6.4 powerstroke though, then he had one of the best 6.4’s Ford made because that is probably the worst and least reliable Diesel engine ever made.

After back surgery in 2012 I did a lot of walking and was amazed to see prices at the dealer of 60-70 G's so it happened in 4 years? You a salesman? You start adding fluff packages like California Concepts which is another
huge mark up. You seem to know everything, I am thrilled to know you

Sure are a lot of postings/insecurities about Ford in this 2022 Tundra section. Looks like a lot of people having a hard time dealing with Toyota doing what Ford has been doing for many years now. Guess it’s the TTV6 coming to the Tundra? Remember this is Toyota, hopefully they have worked through most issues with this new engine. It will probably be better than anyone is expecting. Personally I’m looking forward to getting a high resale value on my Tundra and putting that down on a new 2022 Tundra. :D

Thank you. That’s exactly what I was referring to. I don’t give a shit if you make fun of the manufacture. I can’t stand jeep myself because I had a lemon law by back a while ago that was a utter piece of crap. But I also had a tundra buyback as well. I draw the line at getting personal with somebody else that you would not say to someone’s face. I know a lot of people on here will says yes I would. That’s why I said let’s test it out to see what happens when you do.

I’m the same way. Too many keyboard warriors on every platform. Twitter being the worst. But that was a direct comment to me since I have a 2019 tundra and a 2021 F250 tremor.

Just have to put another $8-10K into it getting the known problems fixed and it will last just as long as the others. ;)

I don't know what I'm more excited for. Toyota releasing info on the new Tundra or people's emotional responses to other people's opinions.

    Either way, it's entertainment.

I still skeptical if the Twin Turbo 6cyl will get overall better mpg, I’m curious if it’s going to be worth it. I’m sure it will get better mpg.... Yet how much? Worth the higher octane fuel cost???

Basically this thread has been bastardized because Toyota has ghosted us with the new Tundra. All the speculation has been discussed and then discussed again and again so now all that’s left to talk about is crap about other brands. Sigh....so I get to blame Toyota for all this scope creep.

well I am going thru a phase at the moment.
I love my tundra I really do. It’s a great truck and performs as I expect it to.

But I am also feeling the need for something different.
Been that way for a few months.

if Toyota would let the pro enjoy some promos I would have jumped on one a awhile back. But no it’s full sticker at a min.

what will I do. Most likely nothing. But I can say that mustang is a sweet ride.

The 3.5 ecoboost get marginally better fuel economy than the 5.0 overall and worse FE when towing. I am not sure how Toyota is going to manage 25 MPG highway. My guess is a 2WD xtra cab will do it but not a 4WD CC. The 4WD crew will probably get rated at 23 MPG highway (same as F150). Point being if it the new Tundra can average 17 MPG for everyday driving and over 21 MPG highway that’s going to be a significant improvement over the 5.7.

    Love the 5.7 v8 ( Dont we all )

Yet I sold a 100 series land cruiser that got 12-14 mpg.....

I really would not want to duplicate it hat- so I may roll the dice on the new 6cyl 2x turbo

If a Full size 4x Yota truk can get 23 on hiway trips and 15ish in city.....

    Well, that would be great.

Towing is a different story, obviously

My grandpa drives a 2001 shortbed supercab F350 with the 7.3L. Incredible truck. He wishes I had chosen a new Ford for myself but completely understands why I didn’t.

F150 has a modern transmission, Tundra is still a decade behind.

    Also a 5.0 is a lot closer to a 3.5 than a 5.7, fwiw.

Agreed, why I think the improvement in the Tundra fuel economy will be greater than in the F150. As the F150 already has a 10 speed transmission and smaller displacement V8.

The 150 is probably the most competitive truck that the tundra needs to complete against. So I’m sure it will be slightly better mpg , slightly better payload a a good amount more..... cost.

That's the impression I'm getting too.

"World beating" is one of the words that has come out of Toyota. I'm sure Sweers has used these past 4+ years to come up with something legitimately competitive.
