I don’t even know that was possible. It looks way better than the mountain of chrome the SR5 trucks come with of that year

I don't recall. The LED's I got from my local Mr. T. They cut me deals since I'm in there often for various toyota vehicles I service myself.

I noticed the three Marker lights in the grill on the teaser video. Are they going to name it the TRD Asteroid to align with the prehistoric name trend to signify making the competition extinct?

    Hey Forum.
What’s the opinion on the 6cyl twin turbo ve 5.7 v8

min sure is been discussed, yet I’d like to rehash that topic. I’m pondering a 21 vs 22

Don’t want to hijack thread, unless honda is a better topic -ha

i am going for 2022 instead of 2021 because i want v6 for better mpg and im def not ever going to tow anything. v8 is good motor but i would not wanna put 38 gallons in truck when gas prices get close to $4 a gal and get only 400 miles out of it. with toyota`s reliability backing up v6 im more than comfortable.

    This^ is what I’m thinking.
Better fuel economy, better payload and if.... I get a camper trailer - I better be able to tow with it!
My thoughts are that the mpg of the 5.7 are on the verge of dismally awful, and if you hammer the skinny peddle or tow, your in single digits. That gentleman is not interesting to me. In this modern era of technology- we should be able to get Horses that gallop efficiently and not drink from the troth so often. I left a 16 year old 100 series land cruiser that was around 12-14 mpg, I don’t want duplication of that mpg.
I’m skeptical of buying the New model tho.... Don’t want to have shift issues like the modern Tacoma trucks, or some other issues. They have had 14+ years, I’m hopeful they figured out any issues a updated model would have.
    Release date? Anyone???

Also with the prices some people are asking for a slightly used model, Why would I not consider a brand new truck.

I don't think a TTV6 gets any better fuel economy when towing or if you "hammer on the skinny pedal".

No I don’t either, yet I’m sure the other 85-90% of normal everyday driving it certainly would

Just trade my Taco for a Tundra a few months back (growing family) and decided to get a used one over new because I want to see what the next gen brings. The TTV6 is based on the LS500 engine which will most likely get a new top end. Hopefully with Toyota's use in the LS they will workout all the issues before introducing it into the Tundra, at least that's my thinking.

If the Lexus 500 6cyl twin is what is to be for the new 22 Tun, I see it as a win.
6cyl fuel economy with twin turbos when power is needed. Am I missing something? High Octane fuel needed perhaps?

That and questions about long term durability when frequently worked hard.

Hmmm- Well If it last 80k miles with occasional towing, I’ll be happy. If it dosnt, mr T will have some serious explanations

I'm tempted to sell my '16 now for more than I paid for it in '18 with 18,000 miles on it. I have a back up Toyota Land Cruiser I can drive until I decide what to do. Very tempting but I love driving my Tundra.

    I don't see the connection.
I needed a truck, the Toyota resales better than any other brand, Fords are over priced garbage, Dodge wouldn't work with me, Chevy didn't have what I wanted.
    Did I miss something?

So the Toyota Truck we are discussing is supposed to have a hybrid option also- I’m sure that’s not cheap

Yep, I'm on my 3rd. 93, 03, 05 and my brother had a TRD factory supercharger on his '96. I've owned one since 2008.

    I’ve had a 76,93 & 2005
Now a Rcsb Tundra for work/Daily and am pondering a used or new Crewmax. What’s your 16? Crewmax or Double?

I read that the bed length is possible to be longer on Crewmax 2022 - That would be nice!

I do have faith in Toyota to make a good 6 cyl engine. They have been doing that for over what? 50+ years

David Chao over on his site Automotive Press said a while back that he believed the new TRD Pro would be wider and longer than the current version and would be a "Special Addition"
I am hoping that this would include a 6.5 ft bed on a crew cab...

They kicked the Tundra can down the road again though...he said today that they found out interesting news that confirms a lot of his predictions but could not would not specify which predictions were confirmed at this weeks presser...said maybe on June 17th we'd find out more or certainly a week or two after that...
