Whatever this forum told me to do
I like what I see so far.

I will consider changing in year 2 if it out performs a supercharged 2020 1794.

I trust Toyota to at least match the F150 in capability. maybe not the stupid generator thing. whatever.

"if you make a vehicle that’s over 80 inches wide, it starts to fall into various "commercial vehicle" categories, and one of the requirements of vehicles this size is that they have — in the words of our government — "three amber front and three red rear identification lamps spaced between 6 and 12 inches apart at the center of the front and rear of the vehicle, as high as practicable." This is why you see these lights on an F-150 Raptor (over 80 inches wide) and not on a regular F-150 (79.9 inches wide — likely not a coincidence). It’s also why you see the lights on heavy-duty trucks and not light-duty models."

What's Toyota's track record for first gen problems? I'm new to Toyota and I love my truck. If the market stays high for used trucks I may be tempted to trade it for the newest generation when that time comes. I just hate the idea of owning something "newly redesigned" lol especially when it comes to powertrain.

Maybe I'll give it a few years until they get most of the kinks worked out.

If I remember correctly, the 2007 Tundra had more issues than usual....but that was a complete new frame/platform/engine/etc. change. This is likely not quite as radical as that, I'm thinking; so I'd guess (taking a SWAG here) that it might be a bit higher than Toyota's usual, but not as bad as anyone else's usual.

Np! These lights and the side marker lights are the indications that this model they are showing is going to be the raptor/trx fighter. Gonna be a wide biotch! Can't wait.

This is going to be built of TNGA-F, which is Toyota's brand new truck platform. I'd suspect a whole new frame. The engine will likely be a TTV6, which may not be brand new. All new coil suspension as well. All of this is unconfirmed, but with what we've seen from the teaser, I would be shocked if Toyota did not move it to TNGA-F.

I'm quite interested to see Toyota's teething pains on this. The new Taco wasn't the smoothest launch and it was still pretty much the same as the old one. It did have a new engine and transmission, but AFAIK the rest was cosmetic.

If I were a betting man I'd bet there's a new tranny (8-10 speed) and a smaller displacement option for the new generation to keep up with competition. They'd be smart to at least keep the current 5.7 and 6 speed for those traditionalists out there though.

If I was going to upgrade it'd probably be to get their new high torque fuel efficient turbo option that they're probably coming out with. Lol Gonna let someone else foot the bill for early problems though unless they offer some sort of 10yr/100K warranty or something.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about it. On the one hand me want! LOL On the other hand, my 2020 is just about paid off; so with the high value on our current vehicles, I'd likely have a note of about $8K or so on the one I bought. I'll see.

With that said, if it's like 450HP/TQ, and anything better than about 23MPG, sign me the hell up. LOL

I'm with you haha. My truck is paid off and I haven't had a payment for about 4 years now. It'd have to be a bad ass powertrain for me to upgrade right away. I'm excited to see what they bring to the table this year regardless

Much better than the big 3. Seems Toyota does a lot more testing to get things right whereas the big three releases and then fixes the problems as they pop up.

I agree the big three rush to get this out as quickly as possible and fix the issues as they come up. I've bought a few "redesigned" Toyota's in the past and have not had any issues. I bought a "redesigned" 2020 Highlander at the beginning of last year and have had no issues with it.

Tundra has been working out. I like the more "chiseled" look! Appears to be taking some ques from the GMC AT4 which is a good thing.

I like what I am seeing so far. It's nice to already have a 3rd Gen because I am in no rush to upgrade and can quietly observe from afar on how this launch goes and what the 1st refresh looks like. With some luck, our V8s are still desirable and I won't take a hit on trade it. Or I just get to keep my Tundra for the next decade and listen to it's glorious exhaust note.

That was my first thought as well. Reminded me of the AT4 and that' is a good thing because it's the best looking truck right now in my opinion.

I’m not thrilled with the new front end, but I think once an aftermarket front bumper is on there it’ll be right up my alley.
