That's crazy, just don't see that around me. Curious what you are planning on getting?
Yeah, I was confused about that too. It always looked more green than grey to me.

I have a Lexus RX 400H with a CVT, I love it. Driving in the mountains is great with the hybrid and CVT. No high revving or transmission down shifting. I had 2 people and about 750 pounds of equipment the last two weeks in the NC and TN mountains The Hybrid kicks in and you just keep going at the same speed.

However, I don't know how a CVT would work towing or under a really heavy load.

I'm sure it looks exactly as they meant it to look. Seems to change a lot in the light. Most of the time it looks a lot like Cement but with a faint algal bloom to it. To me anyway. I'm sure if I saw the two next to each other, they'd look very different.

It's as if I'm looking at a Cement truck but someone in the next room is whispering "greeeeeeennnnnn...."

It won't ever make financial sense to trade in a 2021 vehicle for a 2022 of the same model, no matter what perspective you are looking at.

If Toyota produces a TTV6 that exceeds the 5.7's HP & torque (while ALSO increasing fuel economy 50%-70%), then it will be very popular. Other than the lovely V8 sound, the TTV6 will be a no brainer. It will be screaming fast and will be able to tow more than you would be comfortable with. Any suggestions of poor reliability are unfounded at this point. The Ecoboost seems to be pretty reliable and I trust Toyota to improve upon that.

These are all very good points. I honestly be happier with them not changing the engine at all instead of a damn turbo 6.

Poor bastards on a 4Runner forum I'm on created a "6th Gen" subforum for 2019... the 5th gen (2010+) is still basically unchanged through at least 2021.
