Pretty much a clone of the 2021 Raptor...

The Tacoma is not as comfortable as the Tundra or the Raptor.

Do you guys think resale on 2021s will tank when new models come out or will V8s be in strong demand? Been considering buying one and there’s no inventory anywhere.

Not at all. There is no example of this in any remotely comparable Toyota model (Taco, 4R, LC, etc)

I think it really depends on what the new Tundra is. I could see the price getting higher if the new specs are bad or there is no V8 or it just looks like poo.

No matter what happens, the outgoing Tundra will hold it's value. Just look at 15 year old Tacomas. Somehow they still go for 20k lol.

I'd expect a 2-3k hit on present value, but not much more. It's not like when a new F150 comes out and the outgoing model can't even be given away.

They'll be on the same platform, not the same frame.

What does it mean to be on the same platform as the Tacoma?

They will be the same platform, not the same frame. The platform does not determine the size. In short it will share parts, which cuts down on R&D cost, but it will be sized and scaled according to the application.

Thank you! I actually prefer this. It should make it easier and hopefully cheaper to get parts!

I also read the Hilux will share the same platform.

You guys think Lunar Rock will be an available color in the 2022 TRD Off-road/Sport builds? Or does Toyota change up the colours for redesigns usually?

The more I look at Lunar rock the more it looks greenish to me. Might have to stick to black or cement (if that’s available).

Yeah, I notice the green hue, too. It’s like Cement with a bit of algae mixed in.

Pretty sure what Toyota did in 2007 for colours has no bearing what they'll do now, and before 2014 I don't remember special colours like they've done since that facelift. So it's a pure guess what colours will be available, outside black and white. I'd expect MGM, silver, a red, and a blue. But certainly nothing is for sure until Toyota does a release.

Do it! I love mine. The last few years of Tundras to me feel like the perfect mix between modern amenities and old school design/reliability.

But if you wait, I also don't think the 2022 Tundra will have the kinds of issues that the domestics' have in their first year redesigns.

Sounds like the typical sales strategy of "buy now, or else." there is no law against lying/embellishing to get a sale unless it's a material fact to a sale, which I could get into later lol
