One of them had the leak on the rear window and fixed it himself since gm's fix is to silicone the cracked window frame.

I hate that they haven't actually fixed it because if I were to get one I'd be looking for a leftover 21' at4 to save some change unless the 2022 interior is crazy good.

Ram 2500 has coils in the rear. 3500 has leafs. That's a big reason it rides so nice.

Watching for this issue on my 2021 GMC, maybe I’ll be lucky? At least it seems to be one of the more fixable problems with the domestics.

Until Toyota chooses to release something, I’m not really interested in any speculative YouTube videos. They just all seem like click bait at this point.

The Toyota marketing team must somewhat monitor these types of forums to see what people are saying right? At some point they must think hey let’s release some sort of information to get the positive word of mouth out there so people don’t get discouraged by these underwhelming theories.

Heck if they monitored this forum all they'd have to do is come out and say the drivers side grab handle is coming back and so many would be throwing their money at it

Can't forget we just got pictures of the rear suspension a couple weeks ago - that is massive, it's a complete change for Toyota. About the only things left at power numbers, payload/towing numbers, and interior specs. Since someone snapped a picture of the rear suspension I'm waiting for someone to snap one through the windows for some sample interiors - but those are easiest to test so at this point it could still be a 2013 interior in the test mules.

They are not offering the 5.7. You have the twin Turbo V6 or the same set up with the Hybrid. I was told I should get my first one after thanksgiving. The Hybrid production sounds like it will be Very limited. All of the dealerships would get 1 for the first shipment.

I will pass everything along with spec sheets once I get them. I’m not convinced yet about anything. That why I jumped on the 5.7.

Surprised the hybrid is going to be limited production, I thought that would be the main draw for it. Worries me they'll price themselves out and lose a lot of buyers to much more capable HD trucks (cough Titan XD cough)

I agree with the hybrid, you would think that would be readily available. Maybe that will change in the following year and I am wondering if the chip shortage has something to do with this limited production decision. About "more capable HD trucks" and the Nissan, I don't consider that truck an HD as it is still a half ton truck. Also we don't know what the capability of the Tundra is until it comes out. It could be bad ass or not.

That was the issue with the XD, it was basically a half ton, for the price of an HD. For $5k MSRP I could have gotten into a 1 ton diesel over the XD, so basically a truck that is 3 times more capable for essentially the same price with some negotiating. That's what I'm worried about with the Tundra, right now the TRD trims are in the $50k range, a similarly equipped HD is in the 60's for a gas, 70's for a diesel. If a hybrid Tundra mid level gets into the 60's what the point? Even if it gets up to 2500 lb payload and 15k lb towing I can get an HD truck for the same price that has well over 3000 lb payload and over 20k lb towing. I'll sacrifice a bunch of MPG's if the truck is nearly twice as capable. If a hybrid Tundra is going to be limited then I see there being zero negotiating, and possibly even a premium put on it by the dealers, and if it gets into HD pricing then what's the point of buying a less capable half ton?

Yep, I just got caught up. Guess I've been lazy the last couple weeks. Just waiting for something "official" from Toyota, but that's pretty legit. Maybe Toyota IS taking this next generation Tundy serious. If it doesn't rival Ram in the ride department PLUS exceeds payload capacity, then they'll have missed a major opportunity. One thing is for certain, lifting your 4th Gen Tundra is going to cost a whole lot more $$.

I missed something on those pics, whats the empty elec connection on the backside of caliper in pic 1. And the the shield/fairing by the shock in pic 2? Recovering energy from the brakes?

Disclaimer: I am pages behind, so I don't know if this has been addressed or mentioned already.

Toyota won't go diesel in the USA because of the EPA. The DEF additions have severely damaged the reliability of diesel engines with little to no true improvements in long term emissions. Toyota's big thing is reliability, and they are consciously eco friendly as much as is reasonable. The hit to reliability combined with the emissions bonuses of DEF largely being a virtue signal addition would make them not put a diesel in. If we were still in the pre-DEF era of diesels, then Toyota might put one in. Not a chance with current regs on diesels though.

That would be sweet if it is, but I'm not seeing anything else that this is a hybrid version - although looking up front off the transfer case is that a hose or electrical cable bundle?

The shield /fairing by the shock is the trailing arm I believe. The shock itself doesn't look like it has a shield cuz you can see the bottom of it, it's grossly exposed. Will need skids for those. I don't really see the "empty" elec connection you are speaking of but those pics are hard to see fine details. What is wild is that the gas tank is now on the opposite side and so is the exhaust. All the fabricators will have some work to do when this thing comes out.

But. This is still a prototype although probably pretty close

Yep, and Motor Trend did a test of the 200 series LC and didn't find the 8 spd to help with MPG much. It still drank a ton of gas. They are going to need a lot more than a fancy transmission if they want record setting MPG numbers.
