I’ve been flip flopping between buying a 2021 F150 3.5L Eco and waiting for the 2022 Tundra for a few weeks now... guys convince me!! Worried that the Tundra will be postponed. There’s gotta be thousands of customers like me looking for a truck this summer with zero news of the Tundra.

If you really wanted the Ford, you'd already have it. You'd rather have the tundra. Don't waste money on something you don't really want because you're impatient.
Buy the Ford, tundra comes out as a winner, you'll be looking to get in one and have to take a major loss to do so.
Hold off, and the tundra gets tacomafied, you can still get your Ford.

Am somewhat in the same boat. Can trade my 18 Platinum in for more than I bought it for, and my buddy is a sales manager at the local Ford dealer.

A new PowerBoost Lariat FX4 in Star White sure is tempting.

Wait for the Tundra. If it's not to your liking, 6.2 GM. No Fords.

If you need one this summer then your choices would be '21 Tundra (used one would be a good choice too) or one of the others. Best guesses, and that's all they are, is January release for the TTV6 Tundra and next May-June for the hybrid. The combination of computer chip delays and crowd restrictions are pushing back both the release and production most likely. So I guess the question is do you get something now that you're sure will work (2021 or prior Tundra), do you take a risk that it'll work just fine and jump at the Ford, or do you wait a year to jump on the 2022 Tundra.

My buddy has been a Ford guy his entire life...bought a new Ecoboost. Just during duck season this is the list of items that has been wrong

1- 4x4 solenoid went with 600miles on the truck
2- CPU died at 1500 miles
    3- Cylinder 4 misfire
4- New CPU had shifting mapping programmed wrong and needed to get another CPU
    5- misfire in cylinder 2

myself and our other buddy pick on him everyday. And we are trying to convince him to buy Japanese. The other buddy has a deleted Cummins Titan with 286k on it.

Ram used to be the brutal electronics, but Ford has easily taken that crown. I'm only a little bit nervous about them doing hybrid and electric trucks. They can't make relatively simple electronics work, how are they supposed to make electric drivetrains reliable?

Someone needs to contact Lucas to straighten out all these electrical gremlins. They know them all, since they invented most of them.

Ford continues to use the same cheap parts that have been breaking for years. Funny my F150 Ecoboost 4x4 solenoid went out twice. I won’t touch a Ford again and I was a Ford guy for years.

I’ll say I’m in the same boat of wanting a truck with more payload, I’m not towing a big camper but once I load up I’m cutting it close on payload. I drove a 2021 RAM 2500 with the Cummins last week and man did it ride and drive very nice. Never drove a HD truck before and expected a rough ride, was a firm ride but not rough at all. Storage in that truck was awesome too, tons of storage.

That would not be cool. My 2019 Tundra window sticker says it has a trans cooler, hence i was under the impression it had one when i bought it.........

You need to double check that a diesel 2500 actually had more payload than a gas 1500.

No i hear ya on that, could not find the payload sticker on the truck only the tire info, GVWR info. Not sure if the dealer puts that on or what? I do know the 2500 payload might be lucky to get 2200 on a loaded Laramie though. It did drive sweet though lol.

Change of subject I know! Maybe it’s been questioned/noticed here already? The leaked Tundra Dominating soon video had side marker/clearance lights. I’m assuming that’s because it’s over 80 inches wide? Looks like Toyota might be getting serious with the TRD Pro?

Did they have any issues with the rear window or 3rd brake light spoiler leaking? I wouldn't mind the 6.2 in rst or TB trim but I've read they still are having issues with the 2021s.

I think the only way you are going to get a TT V8 is if you switch to BMW or Mercedes and get a M \ AMG series .

If they were going to sell in European markets it would be a better selling smaller engine with turbos. They are taxed on engine displacement so would make sense for that reason.

And I think I read recently that displacement threshold is 4.0L.

    I'm expecting:
    3.5L V6 N/A
    3.5L V6 Hybrid
3.5L V6 Single or Twin Turbo variants

I would definitely avoid the sliding rear window for that reason, which unfortunately means you can't get the slightly better audio system or a backup camera you can actually see something in at night. It doesn't sound like the leak is a spoiler issue as the fixed rear windows don't seem to be leaking and they have the same spoiler.
