Which is funny because that’s what anybody who knows anything about these kinds of motors said is exactly what would happen but the V-8 nut swingers couldn’t help but make comments

Just did a 125 mile trip at 73 MPH average and was at 20 MPG all freeway. Around 1000 miles on the truck.

If the turbos are spooling youre losing mpg. The saying when th3 eco boost ford came out was you can have eco or boost but not both lol

I know a lot of people are saying they are getting low 20's now, but has anyone actually seen someone with a tank with over 600 miles? Or even 500 miles? Are people just going off what the dash is telling them or just picking their best commute inside of a full tank?

I found out about Fuelly app from KEdRevs on YouTube, you enter odometer reading, gallons of gasoline used and price at fillup, app calculates mpg since last fillup. Tundra driver information center mpg readout is pretty accurate to calculated mpg from Fuelly app.

    Well.....

    Long time not here....

Couldn't wait any longer....Couldn't get a Tundra spec'd the way I liked it. So confess I got an F150 V8 Crew Cab. 6100 miles on it since last day of December. First Non Toyota/Honda in 30 years.

Worst MPG, towing 6000lb of trailer and wheeling truck average MPG over two tanks 14.0.
Best MPG to date, possibly thanks to summer gas down south and a smooth interstate drive, 24.7 over 505 miles.

At about 500 miles in, I did a trip from Denver to Taos, NM. 644 miles total and only put in about 27.5 gallons of gas in the tank when I got back to town. 23.4mpg. About 50% 80-85mph interstate, 25% mountain pass, 25% backcountry roads at 65-70mph. Mostly on ECO drive mode. I have a '22 SR5 CrewMax with stock wheels/tires.

I get around 14-15mpg in the city on my very short commutes/errands. Don't really drive much daily around town.

I just completed a tank- 499 miles and 26 gal, 19.2 for the tank. Car was reading 18.1. Yes, the truck can go 500miles before the low fuel light comes on.

I'm experiencing the same. Truck computer consistently calculates mpg by 1.2 MPG.

Finished a round trip from North Carolina to Virginia and back today. Got gas before the trip and end of trip at same gas station. Probably have 200 pounds of camping gear in the bed and two people on board. Passed 5000 total miles on the odometer on my 2022 2WD SR5 Tundra today. Traveled 608 miles using 24.8 gallons of fuel. 99% of driving on interstates with cruise set on speed limits of 60 & 65 and 70 MPH that was majority of driving today.
Got 24.5MPG. The onboard computer said 24.3MPG.

Coming from the 2014 5.7, the gas mileage has been a pleasant sight. I enjoy pulling up to work and seeing 19-20mpg!

My Tundra's fuel economy has been slowly getting better, passed 5000 miles yesterday with 24.5MPG highway, best so far.

When checking fuel economy on a trip yesterday, ran the gas gauge down to 1/8 of a tank. My Tundra has a 32 gallon tank and I could only get 24.8 gallons in the tank after driving 608 miles. Had 7 gallons left when showing 1/8 of a tank.

Not hand calculated, but from pick up at dealer on the weekend I have not reset it, so this includes the #'s from rolling off the line, delivery and sitting in it with engine idling likely for an hour overall and a little over 320kms,(around 200 miles) of mixed in town, country roads & highway, I am showing 14.7 L/100km (16mpg) on truck. which is just about what I was getting on my Ridgeline, so - Ill take it! I'm sure it will improve a bit as I break the truck in.

Wow I would have expected more. My 2.5 got around 12 towing about 6000lbs last weekend(less wind resistance since it was a heavy duty trailer with a load of dirt/mulch/compost). I did about 65mph

Not bad fuel economy for long trips. Pretty moderate driving. Never went more than 5-10 mph over speed limit, normal mode, no cruise control. This trip was from mirimar beach Florida to jasper Alabama. Good bit of the initial trip was 45-65 mph roads until reaching the interstate and heading north while rising in elevation slightly plus constant rolling hills in Alabama.

Currently averaging 21.8 mostly rural highway driving and in town. Very little stop and go. Had a 400 mile trip where I averaged 22.4 @ a bit over 70 MPH

With no indication of his speed or environmental conditions its completely impossible to judge that number. Towing my same trailer with the same truck for 4.5 years now, I have seen anywhere from 6.7 to 10.8.

But honestly 10 is pretty good for a 8' wide travel trailer if he was going freeway speed.

I like fuelly too. Only real good way to get a feel for real world data.

Yes the 17.1 is a good sign. I think usually you see the new model years start off low and then come up over time so if Tundra's were to follow the same trend I would expect we see them start to average higher than that.

IDK what it is about Ford's 3.5L but it just doesn't do well on the mpg's. The 2.7L Ecoboost is stellar and nearly matches the base NA V6's. I think its in the low-mid 18's on Fuelly. I think its just a fundamental design difference. The 3.5 is just a reworked 3.7L Cyclone where as the 2.7L is a ground up architecture with boost in mind. I feel like the Tundra 3.5L is closer in line with the 2.7

Just stopped after a 500+ mile trip from Colorado to kansas. Averaged 20.1mpg with 75% interstate driving at 80+ mph.
The rest was rural dirt roads and highways @50-70 mph

Wasn't expecting that good actually with the way I was driving. I wasnt gunning it or driving aggressive other than speed and only had to pass a couple people on the rural roads.

All hand calculated but digital wasn't far off.

Thanks for those numbers. I’m waiting on my truck, literally like your. White limited 4x4 6.5 bed. I’m getting slightly better MPG with my longbed 2019 taco at 21MPG but I can live with loosing 1.5 for full size. Also in California. Gas prices are f()&3d

2nd trip towing 5000 pound travel trailer interstate driving 58 miles round trip 8.5 mpg which is about the same I got in my 2014 Tacoma prerunner with 4.0 v6 engine pulling same trailer. Have 630 mile round trip coming up next month I hope tundra gets closer to 10 than 8.5 mpg.
