Temecula Valley Toyota has a gray 1794 4X2 that had a sticker of $64k but with the added dealership mods (spacer lift and 35in tires new rims) the truck is selling for $83k - add tax and lic and you’re over $91k here in the great state of CA

Better plan on keeping that guy for a lifetime because good luck trying to recoup any of that money when you sell in a few years…

Longo Toyota and Ontario Toyota don’t play these games but have long waiting lists from what I understand - try them instead

Either most of these people will hold these things forever or there are a bunch of people in for a rude awakening when they go for their usual 3-5 year trade routine and find out how far under water buying at these levels put them. They had a Limited at 68K before tax.

Faulkner Toyota in Trevose PA told me over the phone today they are selling for MSRP but they would not deal with me as I am out of state (despite my having bought a 4 runner off them a few years back). He also told me they are getting between 80 and 100 Tundra related calls a day. East Coast Toyota in NJ is charging almost $10,000 market adjustment on a 2wd SR5. I am having zero luck finding trucks for MSRP in the NYC area.

    Thanks…
Let me know when you drop the “market adjustment”, aka “customer ripoff”.

Thanks for responding. I am looking for a 4-wheel drive Limited.
Also, another question…are you selling at MSRP or are you adding on a dealer markup?

I just purchased my 22 4WD Crewmax a week ago for MSRP. There are many dealerships here in California selling the 22's at MSRP.

Maybe I lucked out. I reached out to several dealerships to express interest in purchasing a 22 and received a few responses. I put a deposit on the first truck that checked all the boxes for me and the actual truck was delivered to the dealership about a week and a half later. I was at the dealership an hour after they notified me that it had arrived. Southern Cali could be backed up more than the North, though.

Yea. Find this hard to believe.. I would put the percentage of dealerships in CA (at least SoCal) selling at MSRP at about 10%

I know of Longo and Ontario (maybe it’s John Elway?) and that’s it otherwise they aren’t necessarily calling it a dealer markup but rather doing many many upgrades and then overcharging…

Good Luck to all and don’t pay a markup or overpay for upgrades you probably wouldn’t do yourself for triple the cost!!

Lakeland Toyota (Florida) is adding $4995 market adjustment plus a 1495 mandatory package including window tint, door edge guards windshield treatment and coupon book.

    *added to the markup.org page

Miracle Toyota in Haines City Florida told me MSRP but then when I wanted a 1794 they say 10k markup on a 1794. Told them no and he said he would dropped it to $1795.

    Seriously. That's a 23k markup. 20k + 3k for the 1 year free key replacement.

Tell 'em @1795 under msrp and will finance thru them .. they will STILL make decent amount on you and even at that price it would just be a so-so deal (in the past anyway) lol they can take the 1795 OVER and stick it. Don't comply, let freedom ring :)

Told him if it made it to the lot unsold and they wanted to move it for msrp to let me know. I've never paid msrp but I refuse to pay over it.

Yup, I've always negotiated pretty good ... where after taxes are added on, it brought out the door price to near MSRP.

I'm on the list with the Beaverton dealer. The dealer in Springfield says that they aren't allowed to sell to out of state folks (I'm in Washington).

That was just a limited trim. Hell, for that price you could get a new gen Raptor with all of the bells and whistles you want, or care to have. At least the Ford CEO was warning dealers not to gouge, or their allotments on new Lightnings would be cut down. WTF?? I am hanging onto my raggedy old 18 Limited. Fork that!!

Ah nice! Beaverton knows what I am looking for as well as Wilsonville.

Salem dealer wouldn’t even reserve one for me as I am more than 10 miles away… not that I wanted them too, but that was their rule.

This is a contradiction to the existing list, but I had a quote on a Tundra Limited from Larson Toyota of Tacoma that for Limited and above trims, their markup is $6995, which gets you front window tinting, interior and exterior "ceramic" protection.

Toyota of San Luis Obispo (Ca.): Inventory to be delivered was 3, 2022’s. One was EXACTLY what I was looking for (4x4 Limited Crewmax 6.5 bed with full sunroof and TRD Off-road package in white). I knew the MSRP and asked them what they would sell it to me for. They said 5K market adjustment. I said 1K right now, cash in hand…deal was done. At least one of the other two went for the 5K market adjustment (according to a source). There are dealerships willing to play….basically I found the same truck in SoCal with no dealer markup (Longo) and figured it would have cost me nearly 1K to drive another car down, pick up and bring two back when you figure gas, time, finding a person willing to make the 10hour round trip etc. I have seen markups in Ca as much as 12K. What a rip…
