Edmark Toyota in idaho has 2 "used" Capstones (1/w 13 miles and 1/w 391 miles. Your choice $99,991. Also, a used 2021 Landcruiser-$99,991. Sounds like a great investment.

Had great experience at Olathe Toyota, suburb of Kansas City. MSRP. Had to put down $500 deposit and it got allocated about 3 weeks later and delivered 6-7 weeks after that.

Mountain States Toyota June 2022 no mark up or delivery fees. Unlike Corwin Toyota in Boulder at that time which was $5,000 over MSRP on all Tundras.

Totally agree with you buddy, dealerships do this bullshit because they know there’s always a desperate dumbass with the money to pay whatever they want just to make a show off with friends and family

My local dealer took a TRD Pro in on a trade for a Capstone. They marked it up to $99,900 and it didn't even sit on a lot for a week!! The prices people are paying for these trucks blows my mind.

I live in South Florida and the 4x4 are not marked up. Cheapest Crewmax SR5 I found was $53k. I also want to note that most of the SR5 trucks in Florida have the Premium package 7 XP packaged.

plus another 6477.12 for tax and 150 documentation and what ever license is on something like that?? Equals lot and lots of money!!!:)

    don’t forget my finders fee!!:)

was just told that whole in finance they tack on another 2995 and if you don’t pay it they won’t sell the truck. Nothing is said till you are sitting down getting ready to close. This came from a person that used to work there.

There are some FTC regulations that are currently on the floor against dealers. "Please call for price" is one of the things on the chopping block. Every fee must be disclosed online minus taxes and a few other things that would be unique to the buyer.

There is an open forum on the .gov website allowing anyone to make a claim/comment against terrible dealer practices. Hopefully it does some good.

Here's the link if you would like to contribute.

For those of you in the Pacific Northwest, I've included the dealer name and address, so you can steer clear.

Joint Base Lewis McChord is basically in Tacoma. Any dealership near a military installation is going to be the best example of a ‘stealership’ you can find. They have spent 20 years with a near limitless supply of young service members with plenty of deployment/bonus money and minimal life skills.

I’ve been stationed at Fort Riley, Fort Bragg, Fort Lewis, and now I’m in the Florida Panhandle with no less than 4 installations within 2 hours of each other. I will never buy a vehicle from a single one of these dealers.

Go with Toyota of Seattle, straight MSRP, no gotchas or upsells.

Sounds great right? TRUCK WAS BEAUTIFUL. Was told "we sell at MSRP and don't believe in markups".

    UNTIL...

"We also will be installing a "mandatory" lift, knockoff TRD rims and more aggressive tires, nitrogen, KARR alarm, vehicle etching, and a couple other packs to the tune of $15,999..."

When I told the dealer that all of that stuff is crap and I don't want it (truck hadn't been lifted yet, and still had factory wheels/tires) and I would offer MSRP right then and there - I was shown the door.

Since I am in absolutely no rush to buy that was more amusing than anything else, but it's amazing to me how the market has shifted from a "buyers" to "sellers" market where these arrogant, money grubbing assholes think they are all that. What goes around, comes around!

Good ole TV Toyota: I only get mine serviced there (because it’s a few miles away from my house) but I would never buy from them. They went thru an ownership change a couple years ago and claimed they changed their ways… but as you can clearly see they have not. My wife was looking at a RAV4 Prime a year ago and we only went there to see in person and test drive because the markup on that vehicle was around $5k. They do these modifications that they claim cost them x amount of dollars and they charge you y amount of dollars for it (whether you want it done or not!) Try Longo Toyota in Carson CA but be ready to be added to a long wait list as they are the biggest dealership in CA and do not have dealer markups period. Or try out or state as the prices of all goods in CA has skyrocketed along with the home prices… and 1794 is the sweet spot for me as well on the ‘22s

PS speaking of buying out of state… Peterson Toyota of Boise ID for example does not have dealer markups either but they try to sell to local folks only - unless they have inventory sitting on the lot not moving - I’m pretty sure that’s not the case with the new Tundras though, unfortunately. Good Luck!!

40 miles north of me, I-95 Toyota in Brunswick, GA adds $18,800 in ADM. I drove 45 miles south to Coggin Toyota and put a deposit on a 1794 hybrid- no ADM. Now the wait for it continues.

A dealership near me that's been asking $5k markups this entire year now shows 22 (qty, not year) Tundras on the lot and markups on non hybrid Tundras have dropped to $1k. Is the market about to improve?

If you can afford to wait, you should. Rates are up and banks are less willing to fund 100%+ loan-to-value. Dealers are going to be in a stage of denial but will start dealing once these vehicles stay on the lot for a bit.

I’ve now turned down 4-5 exact Tundras that I’ve wanted since the beginning of September. Just turned another one down today actually. Missed a call from another dealer as well so i assume allocations landed.

My 2018 Tacoma was hit by a dingus who should not been driving on the road a few days before I was offered two different Tundras… now I’m waiting for it to be fixed before I buy a tundra.

The one today was a 2023 limited crew max 4x4 with 6.5ft bed arriving in 6-8 weeks. I told him my story and he really pushed to make a deal. Not sure if it’s a sign times are changing or not.

Yea I would think 2023 would be a much more appealing model year - if only to stay away from the 2022 model year stigma of poor build quality kinda like watch out for certain Porsche models built prior to 2009 for various debatable reasons…
