I have just started looking at 2022 Tundras and stopped by Hendricks Toyota in Merriam Kansas. They wanted me to come by yesterday to see the 2 Tundras still on the lot. They were both sold but they did let me sit in the 1794 model as he talked features.

I know their Dealer Fee is $699, which is steep for the KC area.

The salesman was upfront that they have a $3,000 added value package that is on every Tundra. This included Window Tint, LoJack, some type of protection film they apply to the front of the hood, and what is likely mop and glow to protect the paint. He said at least we are giving you value for your money.

The salesman pulled up all of the Tundras that were allocated to the dealership. He said there is a Platinum that has a deposit but the customer is not sure about the color. If the customer backs out it would be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Does anyone else from the KC area know what Olathe Dodge is charging?

This is one of the worst I’ve seen. Not sure if they are already on here. This is just criminal.

 

I got this 2022 just the other day. It’s a 4x4 SR5 with convenience package, supercrew cab, BSM rear view mirrors, spray on bed liner, predator steps, metal door edge protectors, all weather floor liners, bed cleats, and pain protection film. I had to pay 5 k over MSRP. I’d been looking for the exact truck as far as color and trim and they had it, and they wouldn’t budge an inch. I’d gotten a bonus and raise at work so the bonus covered the mark up and then some and my raise covered an increase in payment from my suv and I just did it.

 

$5k over MSRP sucks but not as bad as some I’ve seen and if you got the truck you really wanted then it really doesn’t matter… Enjoy!!

I appreciate it! I absolutely am in love with this truck. It was built in January and supposedly these are supposed to be good and fee of thr wastegate Problem. If it does meet thst fate it’s certainly under warranty so I’ll just drive the vehicle they give me for a month to get it fixed or however long and save the miles on the truck and it’ll be fine.

Crazy. This was the first dealership I visited because people stated that they didn't markup the trucks for Maryland residents. I show up, and the salesman told me they'll help out locals by only adding under 1k, then that changed within a few days. Now 20k....

to be fair that posting is a month or two old now but i dont plan on scrubbing postings from the site. i want to be able to go back and see markup history

 

Try to put a few hundred miles on it right away as most seem to have that issue between 0-500 miles (but stay local just in case!)

 

I’ve driven to my brothers house the next state over and driven to go shopping to nearby city and done a lot of driving to enjoy the new ride and although I’ve only had her4 days or so I’ve got about 400 on her so far. So far so good. I love it so much I hope it stays good

 

In the process of ordering from Molle Toyota in Kansas City. They have a Limited 4WD CC that will work for me. This is from their allocation with a March 25 build date. Any guesses on when I can expect delivery (I know this is about as loaded a question as I can ask)? The salesman said 20 to 30 days after the build was his best guess.

MSRP, $300 Dealer fee, no add-ons, and a $500 refundable deposit.

 

Reading on here about others who followed their Tundra delivery, 20-30 days sounds about right, that's what most have experienced. Just depends on how much transit is required.

 

I wonder how the shut downs in Japan are going to affect U.S. Toyota sales and availability? These markups are just going to get worse if so.

Fox Toyota in Tennessee is selling at MSRP without any silly dealer add on packages. They require a $500 deposit to get on wait list, which is several months or more.

Atlanta Toyota wants an additional $10k for a truck 90 - 120 days out. No thanks.
Worse, they tried to hide it in fine, small print and called it an EPA fee.

Even with 12gs down they couldnt even get the loan approved for the full amount they are asking. Thats awesome.

 

The Sales Manager emailed me back about why I wasn't interested in his Tundra with the $10k mark-up. Here was my response:

Sure. Take your $10k Environmental Protection Plan and shove where the sun don't shine. When that becomes uncomfortable, call me. I'm sure by then I will have bought a new Tundra for $60k from one of your competitors. You know, one of the dealers that have a shred of integrity. If you are not sure what integrity means, google it.
