Damn, it saga that bad at only 2200 lbs? I have a trailer that weights 2k. I tow it with a 21 pro and no issues sagging that I can see. If yours sags that bad it may be a deal breaker for me.

Hey can you link me to the spacer you bought? I'm gonna try that on my '22 trd pro, having big sag issues on my trailers, also have a decked box which is probably not helping. Have a little sag front to back with no trailer. Thanks

Surprising that all of the tow gurus in here didn't look at this. Based on OP's image, they're using a flat hitch instead of a drop hitch. I tow trailers for the Boy Scout troop I volunteer with, and the frame of those trailers are so low I have to use a 4" drop to get remotely close to where the trailer needs it to be, an even then the trailer is still tilted upwards and trying to drag the back of the Tundra down.

7k is right where my Scout's trailers weigh, and they don't sag anywhere near that much on my TRD Pro. Not an issue with towing capacity, just don't have the right drop on the hitch!

these things are tough. I routinely tow this 36’ picnic boat. 11k plus fuel and trailer, call it 15k total weight?
No problem at the launch ramp and usually in 2WD

Buy a set of airbags. I put a set of the Firestone ride rite bags on my pro years ago. They work great for this specific issue.

Now, instead of driving 5 blocks from your house to the boat ramp, take it up and down some mountain roads, and let us know how you make out.

...or we can just watch the news and find out ourselves!

Just b/c you can, doesn't mean you should....as you are fully aware, I'm sure.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who literally lives .5mile (6-8 blocks) away from a boat ramp.
He would notoriously tow his 24-footer to the ramp WITHOUT strapping the boat to the trailer at all.
"It's fine, I'm only going a few blocks at 25MPH"

Well, one day he "forgot" about it, and "forgot" that he was taking a turn at a light faster than usual.
Boat slid off the trailer, in the middle of intersection!
No casualties, aside from his pride and to his wallet......but just "yet another example."
    Cheers.

absolutely I do. it's closer to 6 miles, I just looked. I know there are risks and I'm pushing it a bit. "normal" (?) driver is no longer working for the storage place and if ya want to go launch your boat, what else are you gonna do but hook up and go.

It worked remarkably well. Don't like going down hills much, but 50mph is no probs at all on flat ground and I'm pretty slow / cautious of course. can't turn very sharp of course with the 3-axle trailer so it does requires some forethought.

But yeah, it's working for now and only needs to happen a few times a year. Hate buying a 1-ton truck simply for this purpose, so the Tundra it is.

6 miles? 50mph? The trouble with all of it is the risks are potential injury to those on the road around you. The equipment doesn’t match the job. There’s a guy in jail rn for doing what you’re doing after not being able to stop in time and causing an accident. Be safe out there people!!

Yup, I wonder how fast the guy behind this guy was going ?
Anyone that deals with boats knows that many come with Adjustable Hitch Posts.
You can slide the post up and down the main rail.
This post in the picture is in front of the Tundra !
You can set up a boat that has decent weight so you can lift the trailer with one hand or not at all.
The difference in movement on the rail might be only 1/2 inch to an inch. Physics. You learn how it works
That boat trailer post hitch IS a WDH - weight distribution hitch for that boat / trailer.
Make sure that post hitch is on tight.

So I would get a drop hitch first and level everything - If still an issue get a WDH next.
I would not be modifying the suspension on a new TRD PRO.

Based on wheel well spacing front and back, I’d say he’s found the sweet spot for weight distribution of that boat on that roof rack. I must say though, it’s hard to see the rack in the pick, maybe it’s the angle?
