Wow! My service appointment on Monday to get my 2x sliding windoors on my 100XR replaced for the 2nd time should be interesting now…think they will let me send the whole thing back??

Given your issues... probably a big reason they are getting rid of them. Must be a design flaw or something?

Checking your username out - does your dealer happen to be on Colfax? I might be the reason you just got that call…

Ha, figured I’d check. Did they say they were discontinuing across all models?? Seems to me like they hadn’t seen this issue and was maybe just a problem with the 3rd Gen mold.

Disappointed to read all of this as I have a 100XR about 2 weeks out.
I ordered the Thule rack system on mine so I am interested in what the issue was with your tracks. Were they just not long enough? Did you sell them and buy something different or did the dealer swap them out for the Rhinos for you?
I did not go with windoors which seems like a good call now but the other issues have me a bit concerned. Hoping my product is better than what you are describing, and that you can send yours back and start over with something better at a deep discount for your troubles.

Looking at a new Tundra the other day and the height of the cab seems pretty low. I think some have mentioned it before, that the top of the windshield seems low on these new trucks.

That got me to wondering.... What's the height between truck bed floor and top of the cab?

I ask because I have a Leer 100XQ on my current truck, and a BedRug, I camp/boondock out of it. I usually use a 2" camp pad and sleeping bag, or a 5" thick air mattress, which gives enough room to sit up in my current rig. I'm a bit worried about the interior height of a capper equipped new Tundra, I know Toyota totally nerfed the interior height on the new Sequoia.....

when I was working with my guy who is way high up the chain of command at LEER he told me to avoid Windoors at all costs, all they do is leak. Looks like they are finally walking away from them!

My Leer 100XR is 41.5" from bed to interior ceiling. Measured in the center, between the wheel wells.

Notes on wiring topper dome light into the 2022 Tundra cargo light circuit. I wanted to have the topper lights come on when I open the tailgate so I tracked down the wiring. This requires removing some body panels but was well worth the effort for me even after having to track down the wiring. My dealer had done a pretty sloppy job of running the power wire from the topper to my truck battery so I decided to remove it and tie it in with the cargo light. All I have running back there is the LED dome light so there is very little current draw.

The pictures are of the driver's side in the rear corner. You can see the passenger seat belt assembly in the first picture showing the entry point. The second picture shows the tie in point behind the driver near where the wiring enters the headliner. I chose to strip a small section of wire and tack solder it due to the size of the original wire and tight working conditions. There are several solid white wires so a needle probe tester is handy. It is not the one grouped with pink and dark blue wires and the larger of the two remaining white wires. Third picture is the completed connection ready to re-install the panels. Now I can hit the switch on the dash and see what is going on in the back at night. Cool!

Picked up my A.R.E. Z2 today. Was told an estimate of 10 weeks and it was in in only 3.

That looks great! Congrats. Just yesterday I called ARE (they’re one of the few that even talk to customers) and they told me that model would not be released for months — guess I’m gonna call em again!

Softopper wrote me today and said they would have toppers for order by the end of the first week of November. I know they said multiple things in the past so take it with a healthy dose of salt and scetisicsm. They did mention they were still looking for a tester for the long bed but didn't specify if that was the 6.5ft bed or the 8ft bed.

I hope they make them available soon. I'd like to have one for my 6.5' bed before winter really sets in.

My 2018 with an ARE topper has the same curve and slight gap there. I guess its just how they are made....maybe it helps with flex and movement, I have to think its somehow intentional. But, no water gets in mine there, there is enough foam around the perimeter to prevent that.

According to my dealer the Z2 is available to order for short bed configurations (as we see in these two vehicles on this thread) but not yet for the 6.5' bed. They could not offer up a timetable on when it would be available (all that is available for that bed size at the moment is the V and the Overland).

Is it just me or are most of the ARE caps on this page not paint matched very well?

This last photo - the difference is quite obvious. I have an A.R.E. cap on order and I was told this about the paint match

    -Color Match (non tri coat)

I have no idea if that means anything for my topper, which needs to be painted in Lunar Rock.
