Went through a carwash today, and noticed the bedbug was wet. Not sure if it was from the positive air vent or elsewhere. Have to find some time to hose it down and see where the leak is coming from.
Here's a few pictures from the back.

Did the latch key covers come with your smartcap, or were they separate purchases? How was the install for you, any tips appreciated! How are your overall thoughts so far on the fit/finish and matching to the Tundra’s lines (especially RSI roof match to the front cab?) thanks! Waiting for my 6.5 delivery.

Anyone have the TRD lift kit with a cap? What spring did you swap to for handling the extra constant weight?

Trd lift. Heritage grill. Painted grill surround. Ceramic tint. Bfg ko2. Leer canopy.
I have the kit with a Leer. It sits level with the stock springs. My problem is when adding weight to the bed with the canopy it tends to squat. I emailed Dobinsons but haven’t heard back yet.

Makes sense. Appreciate the insight. I think I’m just gonna order the 220-400lb one inch. Not feeling totally confident it’ll work out though.

What the lead time for a 6.5 bed and where did you order from? I'm planning to order an Evo a.

Latch key covers came with my smart cap, but I did flip them the other way after I got home. Seems weird to me that the hinge part would be on the bottom.
Campway in San Jose did the install, so can't really give you any feedback on installation.
In terms of fit and finish - everything seems to be fine. There was some minor paint chips (don't know if it was from factory or from the installers) but they gave me some touch up paint to cover it.

In terms of matching the Tundra's lines... I'm still not sure what I think about it. I had a snug top on a Tacoma awhile back and I thought that looked pretty clean. The RSI has a distinct RSI boxy angular look. The cap roof sits just about an inch or 2 above the tundra roof line.

I was having this issue as well, and the shop suggested trimming the extra tail of headliner carpet right at the tailgate interface. Solved the problem for me. It was wicking along the edge pretty badly before the trim.

Thanks. I ended up mocking a template with paper (accessed through the removable rear [cab-end] window on the cap) and just did a vinyl overlay on the 3rd brake light on the truck. Took care of the 3rd brake shine into the cab for me. I didn't want to get into dropping the headliner.

Can the tailgate open and close when the Smart Cap rear door is closed and locked?

Hi everyone! I just got a new 2024 Tundra Hybrid with 6.5 bed and LOVE IT! I am ordering the Leer 100XR shell but the guy selling it to me was a little leery about where to draw the power for the brake lights. Does anyone know if splicing a wire will affect anything in the dash/computer system? Or where best to get power from? Thanks!

I got this link from my truck cap dealer and I did the wiring myself. I tapped into the wire that it states here (even though I was hesitant due to not wanting to mess with the wire harness) and it ended up working properly with no issues. The blue wire did not seem to be in EXACTLY the same place that it explains, but I used a test light and found the blue wire that only energizes with the brake pedal. It was close to where stated, like maybe one row off from that. I have a 2024 SR5 TRD OR with a 6.5' bed. I don't know if the Hybrid is different or not. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks. Gives me more confidence for sure but the shell salesman is cautious about following the shell manufacturers instructions for this because of the hybrid aspect.

i have a hybrid platinum w leer 100xr, second leer cap from the leer factory, they wired it up themselves so perhaps calling them directly would provide insight, rather than guessing w the unsure seller. goodluck

Z2 went on today. I have two sets of Dobinsons springs and the Icon spacer to experiment with. Doing that install in a few weeks. I’ll report back with what works best.

Howdy! I'm looking for some assistance, for science :D I need someone to please give me the outside width dimensions of your 3GT topper at the bed rail. Shouldn't matter the cab/bed config as they should all measure the same width. Although, ideally looking for the width of a DC with the 6.5 bed. Thank you!
