I ordered an RSI and the ship was due in port on the 24th of last month. As of a week ago it still had not been unloaded in port. I was told it should hopefully be unloaded and shipping in ~3-4 weeks but we will see. At that time there were 3 unallocated 5.5' smartcaps, and they estimated 3-4 month lead time for the next production run. I will post some pictures once it arrives and I get it assembled and installed.

Did you order through a dealer or direct? Their site still just says coming soon. I wouldn’t mind talking to them about one for the 6.5’ bed.

I ordered through Offroad Alliance. Originally RSI USA said December delivery, I noticed OA website shifted showing starting to ship 10/30 instead of coming soon so I rolled the dice.

I paid right around what you listed for my 100XR (6.5) with pretty much all of the options you listed, except I went with only 1 windoor. And yes, I keep recommending people to get a few or more quotes because pricing varies greatly from dealer to dealer.

I measured my rack rails and they are 4' 10 1/2" from edge of usable track end to end.

Anyone have the V or Overland series from ARE on their '22? Comments? Gripes?

We had an ARE topper on our 2016 Tacoma and had no issues. This time we will get the headliner though...

That sounds like the same length installed on the short bed cap, is it? I have the rails in my short bed 100XQ, and as I recall, 4'-10" sounds the same as mine.

Do it! If I didn’t have a leer I’d be all over it. Worst case scenario you have to seal the whole thing, but you still save like $4k

I spoke to ST late on Friday. They said the same as the other poster..."It'll be public anytime now." They sent me fabric swatches. I wanted to see the material and the color, but asked them to only send me the swatches if I was going to be able to purchase within a week or so. The swatches are arriving today. Just saw them in my USPS informed delivery email.

Holy $hat! I might have to take a gamble on this. [Frantically starts searching Alibaba]

Theyre going to expect a bulk order after the first "sample" I bought it under my LLC and I actually will be putting in a "bulk order" of 5 units if i like the product to sell locally under my brand.

Hi, I scrolled through all 10 pages but could not find it. Does anyone know of a topper/canopy for a 6.5. that might just work and fits in a good way without me having to order a brand new one?
First time truck owner (love it so far!) and finding all the cool stuff is expensive and not sure whether I actually like a canopy.

I want to use mine for simple camping next spring/summer, that is why I ordered a long bed. Would rather buy one used (that came of a different brand/generation) to see whether I actually like sleeping in the bed. If yes, I have no problem investing in a new one painted in this lovely army green

Also; does anyone know if a canopy for a 2020 Tundra with the 6.5 (kinda) works? Saw a nice used one for sale in my hometown

    Appreciate everyones time, thanks!

There's a few posts (I thought in this thread) of people snagging used toppers off of Craigslist & FB Marketplace from other vehicles. I know there's a post on the forum of a guy who bought a used topper made for a Chevy and it's fits pretty well on his 3rd Gen Tundra. I also recall seeing a few posts from folks who have made a 2.5 Gen toppers work on the 3rd gen. None of them fit the best, but they work for the price.

I would suspect the 2020 Topper would work. You might need to get wider or longer clamps to make it work. The body lines on the bed and the width of the bed caps are different from prior generations, but they're close enough that you could probably make it work. I also think the 3rd Gen bed is about 1" to 1.5" longer so the door might not fit as flush as you'd expect with the tailgate. Again, probably fine as long as you don't expect it to be 100% weather-proof.

Mine, from the opposite corner of the country, was a bit more expensive. I live in an area (Central Oregon) where we have one dealer locally. There are others a few hours away over the mountains and I called around and they were giving me similar numbers. Here is what I got:

100XR: $3,146 - includes keyless remote, 12 volt dome light, carpet headliner and 50/50 slider windows.
    Add ons:
    Removable front slider: $121
    Thule Tracks: $283
    Install: $150

Looks like I paid about $300 more than you would for a similarly equipped canopy. I got it installed last week and the color match is great. It looks great. I'll post pics soon of my dirty truck with it's new top.

Also, my Thule tracks are 5' long of usable track, plus 1" endcaps. They sit centered on the canopy so about 8 inches from the front to the endcap and 8 inches from the back to the endcap. It looks correct to me. FWTW.

Here are some photos of my 100XR installed. I am happy with the color match. What I like about 'blueprint' is how different it is in different light and the canopy matches it really well. The canopy also seems to have a nice fit and the hatch interfaces well with the tailgate.

Please ignore how dirty my truck is. I refuse to use an automated carwash on it and it's been too cold to wash by hand for a couple of weeks now.

I bought my Leer 100XL for $3800 out the door. Features: headliner, remote lock, removable front window, Thule rails (kept my Rhino crossbars from my last tundra) & install.

Edit: forgot to mention 3 weeks to get the topper but another 2 weeks wait for the install. The shop is extremely short staffed.

2022 Tundra Softopper is now live on their website but they don't have a dropdown/select option for different bend lengths (like they do with previous Tundra models). So my assumption is they only have it available for the 5.5' bed length right now.

I waited on "hold" with Softopper chat for about 30 mins and never go ahold of anyone for clarification. Hopefully, they'll have options for the 6.5' & 8' bed lengths available soon.

Edit: I finally got ahold of Softopper customer service. They confirmed that they only have a Softopper for the 5.5' bed right now. The 6.5' and 8' bed lengths are "still a few months out", according to them. Such a bummer.

On the softtopper the pulldown menu for bed length is blank so unable to order the easy way. So i guess have to call it in which I hate going threw that and providing all the info etc.

Darn it. I'm waiting for a 6.5'. At least there is some progress I guess.
