Nope. Some people cannot help but dig up whatever muck they wish - and repeatedly - to the detriment of the forum (IMO).

As an owner of the two new Tundras with TT-V6s (with three other vehicles with V8s currently) I can say that they each have more than enough power and torque for their respective purposes.

Besides, what was that old saying about not what you have, but what you can actually do with it?

    :D

Nope, not at all. My 5.7 was a great truck but I dont miss the engine or drive train, nothing wrong with it but the new one is better.

So far I am not nearly as impressed with the Gen 3 as I was with the Gen 2.5. I only have about 2k miles on the Gen 3 but I find it hard to drive smoothly around town. Throttle lag (known issue from what I read) plus the truck seeming to want to be in too high a gear make it hard to be smooth. It has been much harder to kit out the Gen 3 particularly the bumpers. Some of this is my fault for not doing more research and ordering my truck not buying off the lot. I'm concerned the Gen 3 will not hold up like the 2.5. So much so that I kept the 187k mile Gen 2.5 to try to keep the miles off the Gen 3.20250721_095332.jpg

This kind of thread takes me back to 1995 when I owned a 1.6 liter Honda b16a DOHC VTEC that was just as fast as the 4.8 liter v8 Mustang GT (do the calculation, thats 3 times larger displacement) and all the Mustang guys could say was "but its a V8".. . Even though it even more then doubled the mpg and handled much better.

I am coming from a 2008 LS3 Corvette. Although, I do miss the 6.2L V8 sound of my Corvette, I love the sound of my iFORCE MAX with the Flowmaster Outlaw cat back exhaust & AFE Super Stock intake system. Really enjoying my 2024 Capstone!

I had a 16 off road that my 18 pro taco replaced. Don’t miss it at all compared to my 25 limited off road. Better power, tows better, better mpg, and I like the interior layout better in the new one, 16 felt dated for its time.

I had a V8 Nissan Titan I loved. Then went to a modded 440 HP AWD twin turbo Infiniti Q50 Red Sport. Now I have the Twin Turbo Tundra. I can’t help but feel this truck is overworking the smaller 3.4L engine BUT for a vehicle I drive 80 miles a day, it hasn’t given me any issues and I’m happy with the power OTHER than the throttle lag (or F1 take off) from a stop.

You have throttle lag from a stop? Do you have the iFORCE MAX? Whenever I am feeling spirited, I put my Capstone into sport mode and when I floor it, the response is instant like an electric car.

Correct. The lag is when I am stopped and usually trying to merge into traffic as I live off of a busy street. I do not have the iforce. I have noticed however throttle is much improved in “Tow+” setting

Lol. I had a 2020 sr5 before. Towing wise, I don’t miss the 5.7 at all. It’s not even close.
