do the new turbo trucks burn oil per design? at least the old V8's don't burn none.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I don’t think anyone knows the answer to that question yet.

Generally speaking turbo charged engines are more likely to consume oil than a naturally aspirated engine. Higher cylinder pressures mean that combustion gasses are more likely to make it past the piston rings and result in a bit of oil consumption.

Then there’s the issue of piston ring to cylinder wall mating, I don’t know what kind of rings Toyota will be using, but some turbocharged engine makers utilize rings that really need to see some high cylinder pressures when new to be seated/mated properly. Diesel engine rebuilders have known this for awhile, and like to see big Diesel engines hooked up to a load and pulling hard almost immediately once in the truck to accomplish piston ring to cylinder wall mating.

There’s a member in this thread that doesn’t own a Tundra anymore but still spends time on here to throw negativity around as much as he can. That to me is the definition of a loser that needs a few hobbies or a partner to get his life back on track. Just sad.
Alright, thread derail over. Carry on..

I really hope that's not the interior of the new Tundra . . . It just doesn't
I really hope that's not the interior of the new Tundra—it just doesn't look right. That type of interior belongs in a Camry . . . or a Ford . . .

Aside from that, the picture of the TRD Pro dashboard interior view doesn't look bad at all. Also, notice how this interior barely matches up with the TRD Pro one (the speakers, the lines of the dash, etc.)

My GX screen has crapped the bed and I have lost 50% of my HVAC controls because of it.

My 2014 F150 has 10000 more miles and works just fine. Even if it did crap the bed the only thing I lose is my heated seats, everything else has manual buttons.

So its not just Ram, Chevy and Ford.

The only V8's that are making big numbers with a blower, without throwing a ton of ancillary parts and money at them, are the 5.0's, and only because they can rev to the moon. They will spin them to 8k.

2018+ Ecoboosts are making 450+ RWHP tune only. With E85 people are scratching 600 rwhp on stock turbos. There have been a few in the high 600's with some turbo upgrades and other bolt ons unsing 93 octane on the stock long block for the cost of a supercharger.

But the V8's sound good at least.

This is my problem with these new controls. I do not want all of these things that break easily, I want good, long lasting, controls. I do not want to worry about replacing a touch screen because I use the same 4 places on it for 20 years.

I agree, see I want to lift it so I hope they offer a good package minus the seats and the bed stamp... I don't want to be that guy to buy a TRD PRO and lift it which removes everything it was designed for lol

Idk but my 2011 Lexus GX soccer mom suv has MTS and Crawl so i would hope they do something. Also, how about a diff locker or actual LSD? What truck doesnt have an option for a rear locker or even front lockers/lsd's at this point.

Your GX is a Land Cruiser Prado literally everywhere else it’s sold in the world outside North America. So it does have some real capabilities under that party dress it’s wearing.

Should be just like the Tacoma, they have it in TRD off-road, it’s a waste to put it on a TRD sport

For real, fuck your big ass screens all you guys want  I want a knob or a slider, screens always look like complete shit in every vehicle I've seen, they're a pain in the ass to use, there is no efficiency with them, if your door handle is slightly wet when you get in you now can't control anything, the list goes on as to why they're a pain in the ass. I want to be able to roll around in the mud and get in the truck and turn the heat on and adjust the radio with two motions and nothing more :D
