I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Screwed? Maybe. See how long it takes Toyota to fix the issue.

I got mine from an online car broken from a dealer that is 2-3 hours away they came and dropped it off.... I assume I can bring it to any other toyota dealer for warranty right? but if its gonna take 30+ days to repair it Id rather see if they will take it back and get a different truck if thats even a slight possibility. ...But I can only even see that being a possibility at the originating dealer. Guess I can look forward to a nice fun relaxing Saturday tomorrow making calls to Toyotas dealers WEEEEEEE

    1.) 02/22 built
    2.) 03/07 in use
    3.) 200 Miles 03/07
4.) "Low power, visit dealer" reading, the light went off on the next start up and hasn't returned.

Was cut loose with the truck until the warning light comes on, the service manager told me its a matter of time.

This is a crappy way to start ownership of an expensive new toyota, my last few have been absolutely bulletproof!

Yep. thats why I didn't even go to the dealer with mine, they dont even know what to do if there are no error codes on the computer. Ive put about 100 more miles since it came on and went back off. Just waiting for it to come back on and im just going to go straight to the dealer the second it does.

Well at least Toyota is making sure parts are more available, hopefully no more 3-4 week wait on parts.

    Well... Here we go!

    Built 2/22
    In service 3/8
3/21, 500 miles, Parking support brake malfunction, CEL with reduced engine power...

Calling the dealer this morning to start the process.

Edit: Heading to the dealer Wednesday morning. Will update with resolution. Taking it to a neighboring dealer 20 miles away who has already done the job and has loaners. Local dealer was clueless on the phone and told me I can rent a car but offered no help with loaner or paying for the rental. No thanks!

Update: Got the truck back today! Less than a week turnaround. Turbo replaced, now we'll see how many miles I get out of this one! All in all I'm super happy with the service at our neighboring dealer especially considering I didn't purchase either of my Tundras there.

Sorry to read this!...wondering if these are very early Feb builds and the end of suspect parts. My hunch is that they are. Would really help to read specific build days.

Just wanted to add a comment to this thread. My dealer stated he traded for an allocation and that it would be built March 5. After giving me the VIN and me doing my own homework and the date of proposed ship passing, I called the VPC in Houston to ask some questions. Ohhhh I am glad I did. This particular Tundra (1794) was actually built 12/9/2021 in San Antonio, shipped to the VPC in Houston and then has been on hold because of a "Mechanical Failure" and this is one of 4 that is on hold for this. The VPC rep would not tell me why, or even when it will come off "hold" status and shipped to my dealership, but I am glad I called and asked questions. The salesman and fleet manager at this dealership have lied to me on the actual build date, lied to me on ship date, and have not told me any aspects about this truck when they should be forthcoming when I am the buyer.
There is good news out of this:
    1. I didn't put a deposit on this Tundra so I can walk away at any point.
    2. Because no deposit I can look at other dealership and maybe get into a Tundra sooner than this one.
    3. I have found that this dealership is not trustworthy because they would rather snowball a client than actually keep them in the loop.

I would call those clowns that lied to you and I would tell them that you are plastering that info everywhere. There needs to be accountability. Good on ya for the research!

The sad thing is they think they are fooling a Veteran that fought for there freedom to lie. And my salesman should be ashamed of himself. His Uncle was my motor pool seargant for a decade and 2005 while deployed to Iraq. I’m a business owner and you can’t dicker with my money. I have a brother in arms at another dealership looking for another tundra in the meantime.

    Another one:
    Bought 3/1
    Failed around 900 miles
Had to drive it 100 miles out of the mountains in Colorado. Reduced power visit dealer. Couldn't get it above 50 mph unless I was going down a hill.

I'm not sure since I dropped it off yesterday, But probably in February. I had it pre-ordered and picked it up the first day I could. I'll report back with all the jazz. Apparently I was the first Tundra to show up to that dealer with the issue.

Good to hear. Any idea if the replacement part was a known quantity or is it another maybe bad turbo and time will tell?

I'm thinking time will tell... I'm not sure I've seen anyone posting about going in to replace a replacement turbo assembly, then again I'm not scouring the internet looking either.

Yikes! Not sure what's up with the huge variability in parts lead time. I brought mine in on Wed and picked it up the following Tuesday. :notsure:

I think I have the sheet updated.

No one has made it >900 miles before the issue has cropped up so I think if you buy a truck you will no sooner than later.
