My son just purchased a used 2022 tundra in April with 40k miles on it and the brakes squeal. I told him it wasn’t normal and he had taken into service at the dealership three times since April. They kept telling him that everything was fine they had just replaced the brakes before he purchased the truck. Last week he went in for normal service and they have informed him that he needs new pads, rotors, and shims. I went in today to talk to the service manager and she informed me that Toyota has issued a recall on this issue but only if the vehicle is still in the 36k mile warranty (makes no sense to me since any defect is covered under that). I have researched and am trying to find out how I can find out when this recall was issued. Luckily per Carfax and auto check the one previous owner had this vehicle serviced every 5k miles like clockwork. I feel if it was issued when the vehicle was still under that warranty, it should be covered. Also, with this new engine recall, I am starting to wonder if he can just chalk this off as a “lemon” and be put into a different vehicle without it affecting his credit worthiness? My question really is, can anyone tell me where I would be able to look or call to find out about the date this “under warranty recall” was issued?

I purchased a Toyota Tundra 2022 last year from Fred Haas Houston, TX and within a month it started with brake issue. It is so embarrassing when I drive through downtown when a new truck squeals so loud. I have made over six trips to the dealership and they tell me every time that there is nothing wrong with it. The service manager told me to take a video and record the sound when there is an entire forum on this issue on the internet. Never buying another Toyota vehicle again my lifetime. Making one more trip to the dealership tomorrow and if they don't fix it, I plan reporting the issue to better business bureau. Toyota has the worst customer service and are ripping off their customers. My advise don't even think of buying a tundra. Never know what new issues the newer models are going to have.

It depends on what Toyota dealer you go to some are good and will work in your favor others do not. When I lived in Phoenix the SAIS system failed resulting in limp mode I went to dealership in Gilbert called Big 2 which refused to honor the warranty to replace the system even though I had the bulletin in hand than I went to Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa who not only replaced the system but also looked up and fixed 3 other problems that had has recalls. I have heard second hand Fred Haas is not one of the better ones
