I had this problem as well and found that I had to use a newer USB 3.0 flash drive, and oddly enough, the only one I had out of several that worked was a 64GB one. I know you don't need one that big, but mine simply would not flash or recognize the software on the drive without me using a 3.0 USB drive. I am no longer having any problems with the flash, or the portal app.

Thanks BoostedTRDPro -- I just ordered a new USB drive. All in all -- I love the DMX-1057. The screen size, Android Auto, Tire Pressure info, and sound improvement made it well worth it. I did opt for the Sirius module, which allows you the ability to rewind songs. But I find myself using Spotify more often. Hopefully the update fixes the portal app so I can update my background picture -- Santa is looking out of season currently lol

I've considered this, but was worried about how it would be over a lil bit of time from dirt, dust, mud, etc.
Curious as well how ya accomplished it. I'm assuming just red paint and a brush

    Yep you guessed it!
My pal owns a detail shop and it is actual touch up paint from a Ferrari. Took FOREVER!
About 3 hours to paint-in the fine detaiils with a tiny brush……3 coats. Patience is key. Took my time and painted the edges of all the letters first and then filled in the middle.
Since it is automotive paint I think it will hold up to the dirt grime and elements pretty well……

thats awesome I did too think about doing that also. the pro's steps are way too plain, I was gonna 3d print some raised letters , paint them, and probably epoxy them on

This is also a stellar option. Would be interested in purchasing a set from you if you end up going thru with this and it feel like it will last.

    WOW! That looks amazing!

By the way, does anyone know if the steel TRD PRO side steps can be used to lift the sequoia? With a hi-lift/farm jack

Most likely no, you'll bend the sheet metal it's attached to. I can't say for certain there isn't something significantly stronger behind the sheet metal (highly unlikely), but if it's like the 1st gens the board will simply bend the metal when stressed. You need sliders attached to the frame. Basically, the TRD's are solid compared to the more traditional plastic and metal running boards but the attachment method to the body is no different.

    ah okay that makes sense.

was trying to figure out solutions on how to raise a lifted sequoia if you have an emergency on the road. considering a hi-lift jack (no prior experience with one) but not sure there's really any points you can actually attach one to in order to lift.

    A bottle jack could work.

it wont fit inside the storage compartment on the back? I have different plans on removing my 3rd row and building a platform to support a drawer system, so storage is not a problem with me.

I haven't tried, just based on pictures online they seem to be a bit on the larger size. If it fits in the storage compartment that would be great as I store all the recovery equipment I can in there. But we need most of our cargo space (already gets tight with 2 strollers lol)

i know how ya feel i got a 2nd one coming and we are over packers lol. I put a lockable pelican case on the roof rack. If you can spare the roof rack, we used to carry a thule box up there it held almost all our camping gear

The vehicle fitment for the one you provided says it’s for a CHR, probably won’t fit.
I looked for my 2018 and found this one
    https://parts.toyota.com/p/toyota_2018_Sequoia/TRD-Performance-Air-Intake-System/69528498/PTR0300140.html

I don’t believe there is a difference in the air intakes between the entire second gen life cycle.

The TRD Pro Sequoias in Canada came standard with the Pro exhaust, not sure why it wasn't the case in the US. It certainly has a bit of drone at highway speeds, which combined with what feels like less sound-deadening when compared to my previous Sequoia (2012 SR5), makes the exhaust quite noticeable.

im so close to pulling the interior to sound deaden because of this. Also whats your opinion on the weather stripping or "seal" of the sequoia? living near farms we can always smell whats outside

For some reason, I think they changed (for the worse) the weather stripping on the Sequoias between 2012 and the 2022. Could also be the Covid quality gap as my 2022 was built during that time when I'm sure manufacturers had to find other suppliers for those kinds of things.

No one was injured. Girl made a left turn right in front of me on a yield green turn arrow. I couldn’t avoid her. Worst of all she had 2 infants in the back seat not in car seats!

Just 12k worth of damage to the front end. All fixed now!! Was in the shop for 4 months……
