No but good eye! I usually park back up a little where it is level. Again, slope or not, I have never purchased a brand new vehicle and seen anything like this so yes it did concern me a little especially since these trucks are known, proven, and engineered to have million mile drivetrains. Still haven’t seen it come back so maybe it was just a one time thing? Bizzare…

Sorry, I'm out of un-useful ideas then! My guess was maybe sitting at an angle some of the oil was staying up in the valve area, instead of mostly returning back down to the oil pan.

Hopefully yours ends up being nothing.

This is my second new covid built truck. First was a 20' Titan, nothing but problems! So far so good on my 21' Tundra. I do already have the recall for the rack and pinion though.

Just saw a puff of blue smoke on startup, it was sitting on an incline for about an hour before this happened. 6300 miles. Oil changed every 2500 miles. Not too worried but I think I’m going to stop babying it now, after reading these posts.
Thanks for the info Ya’ll.I will repost if I see it again.

I recently had a puff of whitish smoke after spending about an hour in a restaurant. I had just come off the interstate a few minutes before cutting it off. What does the spirited driving cause?

I seem to remember this once or twice. I wouldn't worry about it, but obviously keep your head on a swivel.

As for breaking in, many people forget that deceleration is as important to acceleration for seating valves. You DONT need to bounce the engine off the rev limiter, but you DO need medium to hard acceleration and deceleration. Most important is to NOT drive at a steady speed on the highway or with cruise while bedding the rings. Varying throttle, harder starts, and using transmission to downshift is all good. Once you get in the 1-2 range, start taking the motor to redline.

All that said, engine break-in is FAR less important these days than it used to be.

    "Spirited Driving" post nails it.

My 2020 does the puff of blue smoke on startup, but only in the following situation:

    -Engine fully warmed up
-Drive hard (3k RPM+, heavy load under rapid acceleration)
-Turn off after only a few miles of gentle driving... no sustained use or freeway speeds for more than a few mins
    -Sit until completely cool

I can repeat this every time, dependably. The smoke is not sustained, just an instant "puff" with nothing after. If it's driven for more time after the "spirited driving" it does not do the blue smoke puff.

Try it. I bet you can get the smoke, as could most anyone here. I know because my old commute had a difficult highway merge 50 miles in, but less than 2 miles from the offramp to work. When I had a punch it to merge, then parked 5-8 minutes later of easy industrial park surface roads, it did this every time.

Sounds almost exactly what happened to me yesterday. Going to lunch with the wife. 10 or so mile of high speed interstate, then 1/2 mile to the restaurant, st for an hour or so and a noticeable puff of smoke at startup. Got home, checked and the oil on the dipstick is fine, oil under fill cap is fine, coolant is normal nice pink level and up to hot fill line.

At first i was worried about head gasket but my 2020 has only 52K miles.

Any idea on what exactly is happening?

Maybe pull a plug or two after it has sat and use a borescope to see if oil is accumulating.

This has been discussed a lot here. Do 5000 mile oil changes.

I do not know why. I doubt it is a ring problem because it only happens under those conditions and the dipstick oil level never visibly changes (I do 5,000-6,000 mile OCI). PCV maybe?

It appears that we have identical trucks, btw. I have never seen another cav blue crewcab in person.
