Ronius, what dealership did you use if you don’t mind me asking? Happy with the process?

Im in thr Portland, Oregon area. I used Broadway Toyota which is in the heart of Portland near downtown. I knew the desk manager so he supposedly hooked me up as they usually sell these for $7,000 more markup as they are in a prime location.

I bought mine for MSRP a few weeks ago. There were none in MN that were available in Army Green but I found one in Chicago and put a deposit on it and booked my flight to go pick it up. 3 days before flying down to pick it up the dealer (who shall be nameless) called me and said that everyone that knew about the deal was out and someone sold the truck to someone else. I was unhappy to say the least.

I started calling around and after some creative internet searching I found a couple of Army Green trucks on the east coast but they wouldn't budge off of $5K-$10K over list. Then I found a dealership in Rochester, NY with one and got the deal done for MSRP. They were great to work with, I flew out picked up the truck and drove it home 2 days later.

Gorgeous truck , good luck with it! I love the idea of the flight out and drive back , thinking of flying to Florida from ny as some dealerships down there have lifetime powertrain warranties, think it’s worth it?

This is freaking hilarious, what you just described is exactly what I went through. There was a dealership in IL, that was willing to sell me an Army Green TRD PRO that someone else had put a deposit on. That was shady, then they realize that they couldnt sell it to me. I also bought my AG TRD Pro in Rochester, NY, Canandigua to be exact and drove it down to Va.

I agree, the situation should normalize in due time (whatever that happens to be). I don't need a Tundra right now... but just wanted to start the search process leading up to the end of year sales. Though I don't know if those will still be the same this year due to the impact of COVID on supply for 2020s. ?

I did stumble across an NFCU auto buying program that might help me... waiting to hear back from a dealer in NC on pricing specifics for this program. Hopefully can get me a couple/few K under msrp...

With air fare so cheap right now, you may want to check all the states for the best deal. Then you get to drive your truck on nice road trip.

You need to look at cars.com there are better prices west of you in PA...

    White - https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/816984185/overview/
    $54,891 in Sinking Spring, PA
Sold by Performance Toyota in Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Here is one up North of you in MA https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/817719275/overview/
    Gray - $54740

These seem to be worth a drive vs what you're being quoted in NJ (I think that is where you are locates?)

I've just put a 500$ refundable, transferable deposit down for a Pro DC in lunar rock from my Utah dealer. They don't have the numbers yet for cost, but I'm guessing it'll be at least msrp + 2k. I looked all over the western states for pro DCs and kept striking out asking about trucks that were already reserved and no discounts. So I ended up just reserving my own. Hopefully my dealer can finagle one for me by mid October, I'm supposedly #1 on their waitlist

I got a deal (at approx 2700 below MSRP before adding taxes/registration) on a Gray 2020 TRD Pro (used NFCU Auto Buying Program to negotiate with a couple dealers). This dealer is out of state and the truck was scheduled to arrive 2 days ago, so I booked my flight for today thinking I had a couple days to spare in case of shipping delays. So now... here I am sitting at the dealership waiting anxiously for my Gray 2020 TRD Pro to arrive off the Truck, so I can finalize the paperwork/payment and drive it home!

Paid MSRP for mine. I went to the dealership where, between my wife and I, we've probably bought 10 vehicles over the years and also referred several other people that have closed deals with them. They had a white pro that popped up on their website one day and I went to take a look at it the next day. When I got there this MGM had just been unloaded off the truck. Comparing the two side by side, I liked the MGM more.

I did what I usually do when I'm trading in a vehicle, and negotiated the difference in price between my trade and their vehicle, letting them decide which number is easier to move. It almost always is my trade value. And yes, I know the higher the sale price the higher the taxes, but the I'm always looking at the bottom line OTD price.

So I paid MSRP for the Pro but felt I got a good deal on my 4Runner trade to make me feel good about the deal overall.

    MGM?

Well, the dealer sent me home in a loaner to drive home 4.5 hrs away. The Delivery Truck with my Tundra can't be located - it's 3 days late and counting. Hard to believe they have no way of knowing where their vehicles are besides "In-Transit"? So I get to wait longer...

Sorry, magnetic gray metallic. Or just "gray" like the one it sounds you're waiting on. By the way, sorry to hear you've got 4.5hr trip ahead and without your truck. That sucks. Any chance they can ship it to you and pick their loaner back up when it gets in, or are they expecting you to make the trip all over again?

Oh - They be will bringing the truck to me and picking up the loaner... that is unless they want to give me a bigger discount :) And the truck is now over 4 days late and counting (seems like a lot longer that 4 days to me).

I even ordered new Cooper Discoverer XLTs (285/65/R18) to get installed yesterday at Discount Tire, assuming the truck would be in my possession by now (you know what they say about assuming). I wonder how long Discount Tire will allow me to keep pushing out my install appt before they ask me to pay for the tires or a restock fee?

Finally got my TRD Pro delivered Monday evening and the next morning I got new Cooper Discoverer XLTs (285/65/R18) installed at Discount Tire. Love the tires so far, look great... modest upgrade in size. I wish Cooper made 285/70/r18's in this tire.

Those coopers look nice. Did you consider the st maxx too? If so, why did you choose them over the st maxx? I’m thinking of getting the st maxx.

I did consider the ST Maxx's but they were to aggressive for my needs as a mostly daily driver and occasional off-road (mainly sand beach driving), rare snowfall. They look wouldn't maintain ride quality and wet/rain performance for me in here in Virginia Beach and probably tmuch noisier. I have Goodyear Duratracs on my 4Runner - loved those but they can be somewhat noisy, wander at higher highway speeds and didn't do well in the rain. I considered the ST Maxx to be very similar to the DuraTracs... a more aggressive AT but not quite MT and likely perform in the same manner across these areas.

Not sure if these pictures do it justice, but these XLT's do look aggressive in person with the sidewall design and I am a huge proponent of the duratracs and ingeneral tires with a tough (performing/looking) sidewall.

Late June - $52k before tax/title for a 2020 PRO Superwhite CrewMax with spray in bed liner/side steps and lettering already on. Drove 2.5hrs from Chicago south to Sam Lehman Toyota in Bloomington and they were awesome. The only other option I had for a white one within 400 miles was Toyota of Romeoville which warned me that they had a white and army green in their showroom and both were $5k over MSRP so obviously passed on that.
