What you're willing to do and what they're rated to do are very different

It is the same exact truck as the regular 2500 except it has the goodies so do go off on the “that’s what it says on the door sticker” trail. Yes , legally door sticker ..... reality will tow/haul same as any of the Ram 2500’s safely.

That is clearly not the reality. The factual reality is what Dodge says you can pull. I would like 15k pulling capacity on the Tundra but airbags don't make it a reality, no matter how much I want to believe it. There's give and take for everything, you wan't to give a 2500 offroad abilites it's going to cost you your towing/payload. You can't have your cake and eat it too

I think it will be a bad move if they don’t have a V8 in the tundra , I think that would be a bad marketing move . If they added an optional v6 truck and still kept the v8 that would be the move to make !

Really Bud, I wouldn’t jump into a battle of wits unarmed. Reality is :the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. I owned one, towed a 3600lb equipment trailer with a 10k lb skid steer on it and it performed just like my 2015 Ram 2500 that’s also listed in my album and that sir is reality. Your reality is well I can’t answer that just like you can’t type what you believe my reality is.

There's no reason to be so salty. One of us it correct here and its Dodge. Dodge says its power wagon can tow 10k max, so it can tow 10k max. Period. I'm citing Dodge and you're claiming you know better...you don't. You obviously took issue with my statement that its a 7,000 lb 2500 that tows like a 1/2 ton but its true, not an opinion. That's its literal weight and towing capacity. I'm not going to argue facts...

I guess your facts are as you posted above “max 5th wheel towing capacity 5730 lbs” ( my Tacoma would tow more than 5730 lbs ). Look at my album and that is a small sample of the heavy duty trucks I have owned. I have been towing And hauling things for over 40 years and have never had an issue, sir that is a fact via real world experience.
‘That’s like me buying a corvette and the internet says or GM says it’s top speed is 160, I buy one take it to the track and get 180 out of it. Then you get on here and tell me no I didn’t because GM and the internet says it can only go 160 when you have never even sat in one. That being said , I am done no more keyboard commando for me today.

Here is why I chose a 2020 Tundra SR over the others.
    1. At nearly 60 years young I wanted the most dependable truck I could buy and keep 20 years=less trips to dealer and least amount of repairs
    2. I spoke with a 40 year tranny shop owner and asked him, "Which trucks do you see in here the most". His answer from least seen to most seen. Toyota,Ford,GMC/Chevy,Ram. He said they can all have problems but gets very few Toyotas in his shop in OKC.

The only stinger about my Tundra is the mileage, but at less than $2 a gallon who cares.

He might get less tundras in his shop because the big 3 out sell them like 30 - 1 . Odds are if there’s that many more Fords , Chevy’s , GMC’s and Rams he’s going to see them more .

Unless your wanting to install dual 1” straight pipes and be a cool Dodge guy with the loudest, raspiest pipes ever. Get the Tundra ;)

On a serious note my yota has almost 300000 miles on it and still strong as ever :)

Should also be noted that modern Ram half tons are using the ZF8HP.

Which is a truly amazing transmission, and extremely reliable. Perfect for light duty trucks. Increased performance, fuel economy, and doesn’t search for gears like the 10 speeds.

I've only heard of issues with the Ford 10 speeds. The GM ones are supposedly butter smooth (if you believe GM forum members, I guess).

Something to do with the lines. I just can't get past it. I'd have to buy a Chevy instead (if Toyota didn't exist).

If money were no object, I'd get that RAM Laramie Longhorn in a second. It has to be the most gorgeous truck interior ever. Don't believe me? Here are some good Canadian boys to explain: The Straight Pipes

And yes, I love the reliability of my 1794 Edition. But d@mn, that RAM is so slick. It's a shame so many small things go wrong with them, cause the HEMI and 8 speed auto have proven to be very reliable.

Lol atleast you dont have a ford... Jk honestly all newer trucks are pretty cool. Alot of people based their experience on older tech like back in the 2000s where ford was not so great in terms of power, mpg, and reliability. But now all of them have great power and great mpg expect tundra and older titans. It comes down to price and warranty for alot of people and also looks.. Some people may think why do i care about reliability if im getting 5 year/100,000 warranty whatever goes wrong ill get it fix for free. And alot of people dont own trucks for more than 5 years and some people do like me, hense why i have a tundra lol...

One of my considerations is that the warranty just means I don't have to pay for the repairs. I still have to find time to bring the truck in or have it towed if the problem is serious. Also, some of the dealerships in my city that I like are fairly far from me and don't offer loaner vehicles. So I'd have to choose between having a single vehicle for a while and getting my vehicle repaired somewhere I don't really trust. Easier all around to just get something with a lower probability of needing warranty work.

I agree about the interior of the longhorn but it does have quite a bit of chrome on the outside .

Not a problem... I LOVE chrome on my trucks. I think I'm the last guy. :)

In fact, I'm quite sad that my rear cross traffic alert won't work with chrome rear bumper covers. I HATE the red rear bumper on my 1794. Looks cheap.
