When did they stop putting a skid plate on the SR5?

2wd no skid plate, 4wd have skid plate. I do find the 2020 skid plate too be flimsy looking. I do not mind the lightness.

My 2007 is 2WD and it came with a skid plate... I'm just trying to figure out what year they stopped installing them. Thanks.

    I have a 2020 and installed these:

    From toyota of coolsprings :
PTR03-00140 Trd Cold Air Intake System
PTR62-0C180 Trd Sway Bar - Front- Red

    From Sparksparts :
    PTR60-34190 Trd Front Skid Plate

If I did this again, I would order EVERYTHING from Roman at Toyota of CoolSprings. He packages items in a professional manner, and skid plates are heavy.

Sparksparts shipped a Tacoma skid plate at first. This box arrived very damaged and I'm not sure that all of the hardware arrived with the skid plate, as I couldn't install it/didn't try. I bandaged the box for the return shipment and FedEx then added more tape. The box probably arrived to Sparksparts messed up, but they could have added tape themselves prior to sending it on.

I needed to order small delicate parts that they omitted in my order from them. I requested that they make sure these parts were properly packaged to avoid damage. In the second (correct) skid plate shipment, the tiny, delicate parts were tossed into the skid plate box and the cuts that Sparksparts made in Toyota's skid plate box packaging tape were not re-secured. Again, the items could have fallen out in shipping and definitely could have gotten damaged.

Roman's skid plate box was opened and they added a bunch of empty boxes and packaging material. The thought process with customer service was night and day.

I don't know if the cold air intake is worthwhile or not, but I installed the dual exhaust and it makes the exhaust slightly louder.
