Off topic, but is there anyway to tell if these 2020 units have Nav simply by looking at it? or does it depend on the model number? I am contemplating adding Nav of some sorts to mine (Androidauto would be acceptable) and don't want aftermarket.

Android Auto uses your phones navigation and GPS so you don't need factory nav in the unit for it to work.

Yes, I cant remember part number differentiation but its in the last 3 numbers of the model on the unit. 2014-2017, 2018-2019, 2020-2021 all have different part numbers (this is for nonJBL stuff).
I believe even if your truck only has the Entune "scout" Nav, that means it has a GPS antenna. There will be a connection on the back of the unit that is gray that will be where you connect the GPS antenna to (for a HU with the "factory Nav" setup)

Yes correct, I was just wondering if the newer 2.5 gen. trucks had a Nav option or if they just relied completed on Carplay/Android for the Maps. And only asking because I was looking in to putting a newer radio into my 2017 (non-JBL/non-Nav) as I ran into an issue where I had no cell coverage and having GPS maps would have been nice at that moment.
And when I was looking into the newer radios and the "Autoharnesshouse.com" adapters they mentioned getting a non-Nav radio or something, if my existing truck didn't have navigation. Well I don't have navigation but believe I can easily swap a Nav "Entune Premium" radio into mine (I have Entune Plus) so I was a little confused by their statement as I believe my truck already has the GPS antenna in it.

I have been compiling a list of radio part numbers and mostly looking at just adding a Nav radio, but then I started looking at the 2020-21 radios with Carplay/AndroidAuto and got a little interested, but there are some caveats to it regarding Nav vs non-Nav.

My truck has the Entune Plus radio and from what I can tell I can easily put the Entune Premium version in. And I was wondering if the later years came with an Android capable radio that didn't have Nav, but I see no designations on the fronts of the units I have seen.

I haven't gotten around to put a ISO or Wanted post yet! :)

I can get the part number off of my 2020 non-Nav unit if you need it.

Thanks for the offer, but prob not necessary at this point. I don't want to spend $756 for a used head unit + wiring, so probably won't go with that new of a model and look for a 2019 and newer one.

Yes the swap is simple if you go non-JBL, non-nav to non-JBL Nav. I have zero experience with car stereo installation, and zero business messing with one, but I did exactly this (found a non JBL w/ Nav) and swapped it into my truck. took all of 30 minutes. All direct plug n play. looking at images of units, if there's a 2014-2019 model HU, it will have a "map card" slot on the bottom right, and you won't see any JBL anything anywhere on the faceplate. thats the one you want/need. If you're looking to go to android auto or apple CarPlay you need a 2020-2021, and there are some wiring harness stuff you'd need to buy and install. That goes above my pay grade. Good luck
