Had work arranged around me being without my truck for the week, have my BMC in had supposed to drop truck off this morning at shop. The suspension lift delivered tomorrow, pick truck up Thursday and Discount had appt for tires and wheels on Friday.

Get email last night that my 4 packages for suspension are still sitting in Dallas, so it took 4 days to go from Tucson to Dallas, bottom line no lift till Thursday evening. So I had to move my appts to next week and hopefully work doesn’t go crazy because it was slow this week.

 

I am thinking of putting the new 35/12.50 BFGS on some Method 305NVs but then I would have a set of 295/65/18 Duratracs on XD wheels that are like new sitting in the garage.

what do you think of these wheels ?

 

Woooohoooo tomorrow the suspension lift will be here. I can’t wait till next week to drop it off and get some GoPro footage of the change.

 

Got the Suspension kit in today and also ordered the Method wheels, paid $225 each for the XDs, putting on Craigslist for $500. Here is a few of the parts

 

Supposed to pick up truck in a couple of hours with new suspension on it. Ordered these wheels for tomorrow and www.route66mods.com has the 5/16-18 x 3/8” in bronze like the bead lock zinc bolts in the wheels for the Bushwacker flares. I hope it looks good, Bushwacker sells black stainless ones on their website so may get those too

Here is some the wheels and tires.

 

Pull the flares off and ordered bronze colored bolts with black stainless washers. While I was at it I changed out the gaskets to the “C” channel ones that hold better. Man did those old ones scuff the paint up pretty bad in less than 10k miles. My buffer and Griot’s Fast Perfecting Cream fixed them.

 

My rack and Overland gear should be here Friday. Now just have to figure out where to store tools and recovery gear since I have to get rid of my toolbox???

 

I love that color. It looks different depending on the time of day, it's really cool.

Method Wheels and 35/12.50 x 18 KO2s

 

Overland Rack with Rotopax and Rototrax, Cascadia Vehicle Tents awning, 12volt outlets and usb plugs installed in bed

 

Very clean build man. It looks fantastic.

 

Not sure what should be next - Genesis dual battery setup or ARB twin compressor mounted under hood. Already have the compressor mount but have a Smittybilt compressor in toolbox.
However the Genesis system is $529 plus 2 batteries so approximately $1k.

 

Truck will be in body shop this week, repainting the surround. It was one shade too light and while they are at it they are going to paint my grill and mirror caps black.

 

Following this is going to hit me in the wallet pretty hard. Looks awesome so far.

Yeah, my back pocket has a big bruise in it. We have had some vendors help out with a 30% - 50% discount so that has helped.

Big news for the build

RoadArmor just sent me their complete TRECK Overland Rack system and just received Genesis dual battery setup as well. Removed BodyArmor rack and installed RoadArmor rack and not banging on the BodyArmor just calling it like I see. The thought and build quality behind the RoadArmor rack is incredible. The TRECK system is cool in that you can raise it up or down depending on your usage. It has tie down spots built into the bottom runner, it’s got light tabs and holes to mount lights all the way around.

Once I get the lights all mounted and rewired then my next project will be installing the Genesis setup but batteries won’t be here till the 30th. This couldn’t have happened at a better time because my factory battery was taking a dump, if I went more than a day without driving my truck the battery would be too week to turn the starter over.

Then after that install the twin compressor mount under the hood.
