Saw it the other day and now I cannot seem to find the info but I remember seeing that there is a difference between the 2019 and 2020 Tundra TRD Pro tail lights. The 2019 has regular halogen bulbs and the 2020 are LED ! Can someone confirm ?

My 19 PRO has Halogen Bulbs in the rear only, including the bed/cargo light, but I replaced those. All front lights are LED, but only after I replaced the front turn signal bulbs myself.

I can't find anything saying the 2020's have LED tail lights. Are you SURE they are LED?

My 2020 TRD Pro definitely did not have LED tail lights. I know for sure because I switched out the bulbs and converted to LED's myself. I really like the result.

Yes I did. It required that I install resistors so as not to get the "quick flash" error. No biggie though. I preferred to solder them in instead of using the included quick connect line taps. The whole process took about 30 minutes start to finish for the rear turns.

Ok thanks do you mind telling me what ohm you used in each side and did you have to add resistors to the front?

I used the LED rear turn signal kit from Headlight Revolution.

    https://headlightrevolution.com/2014-2020-toyota-tundra-rear-blinker-bulbs-led-upgrade-kit-reflex/

    sku: 1417TUN-RER.TRNLED.REFLEX

Not sure of the exact specifications of the resistors, as they weren't marked that I remember. However they worked perfectly and the bulbs are very bright, seem to be well made, unlike some of the cheaper ones on Amazon and eBay. I've purchased different brands for some of my other vehicles/motorcycles and these seem to be of a better quality for sure.

I used HR for all of the tail lights, backups, license plate, cargo light and all the interior lights. Happy with the quality and with the result of the upgrade.

I didn't change my front turn signals out yet so I can't give you any info there, that's still on my list along with a Coachbuilder TRD Pro kit, 295.70.18 tires, Diamondback HD, etc. ...I'm sure you understand.

Just checked their website and to answer your question they are 6 ohm resistors in each side for the rear turns. A picture from the site. My bad for not paying closer attention when installing. It happens.

They are definitely not LED. I also changed my halogens out. I used VLEDS and their inline resistors. Very happy with the results.

chrisbusnut, do you happen to have the JDM ASTAR LED turn signals in the front? I'm going crazy trying to get all this to work with VLED resistors. I've come to the realization that Tundras in the new models like resistors on all 4 corners to work I just want to make sure that a VLED VLR-6 on each rear turn signal will work with the JDM ASTAR LED front turn signals. Any advice is appreciated. Thx

@NuTundra18 , I used VLEDs for front and rear. I originally had the resistors installed in the front, but when I installed the rear turn signal bulbs, the rears did the hyper flash. I contacted VLED and they told me to move the resistors to the rear, so they sent me new mounting tape and once I moved the resistors, I have no issues. So resistors are connected to rear turn signals only. None in the front now.

    Hope that helps.

So, In order to change the halogen bulbs to led bulbs in the rear you need to add a resistor to the wiring harness on both sides ? Anybody have any pictures or done a DIY. Was looking at the Sylvaina Zevo 3157R for the tail, brake lights and 921 for turn signal. Do I need a resistor for each ?

I treat my tail, brake & blinker lights like a sore dick and a rattlesnake, and don't F**k with them. The truck has full LED's in front after installing front LED blinker bulbs. Front blinker LED's were plug-n-play, no resistors, no hyper flash. I'm good with that.

Yes you will need a resistor on each rear no matter what you do. Check out VLEDS.com for their VLR-6 resistors with Duo-Tap connectors. Great quality kit. I would also do their 921 led rear turn signal bulbs. Quality is the best out there. Pricey, but you have a nice truck don’t go cheap!

I agree. If you are going to do it, do it right and buy high quality parts. Just please make sure the parts are NOT from China. We have to stop dumping our money into that country.

so, I would need resistor kit for Turn signal and a separate kit for the Stop brake lights as well ?
