Would love to know more about how you made that aluminum insert!

I bought the shearing at Home Depot, trimmed it down to fit a wooden inlay I had made and attached it with 3m spray adhesive. It was a prototype that turned out pretty goods. I think I will eventually refab with a mix of cutting board and aluminum material.

jpbewley - what the the "T-channel" you reference in your ARE topper? Is that an optional add-on from the manufacturer or something you installed yourself? Is it structural/weight-bearing? I know ARE offers an HD option to the MX and CX models so I'm curious if that's what you have, and if so, is it worth it in your opinion? I'd be installing a RTT so it seems like the additional structural support would be beneficial but also the interior mounting options makes it even more useful. Thanks!

it’s the “HD” endoskeleton from ARE. If you are going to do a RTT, make sure you get the HD cross bars from ARE. They pass through the shell and attach to the endoskeleton.

Enjoyed your walk around vid. Searching for “solar” brought my to your thread. Everything looks super clean! How’s that panel holding up? One more question, did you ever get any of the garage door relays produced?
