Hi all! Looking for some guidance. I Have a 2019 tundra literally 1 payment away and I get the pre-collision malfunction issue. Took it to the dealer and they looked at me like I was talking in Chinese. They saw the message and said it will be 199 for a diagnostic check. Has anyone been able to fix this issue without the dealership? No alterations or tint. Truck is stock SR5 with 117k miles. Would appreciate the help.

Was it raining? A dirty sensor cover or rain/snow will make that happen. Do you know if the recall (if applicable) was done to your Tundra? You can check on the Toyota owners website by entering your VIN#.

    Welcome from NY.

Start w/checking on the recall as stated above; if it's already been done or you're not included in the recall you can always try the 'reset' by disconnecting your negative battery terminal for at least 10 minutes and then re-connect it and see if the problem has self resolved... It's kinda like a hard reset function for a phone or computer and sometimes it just clears out the cobwebs

only had that happen once on my 2019. While driving home from the next town a large bird dropping splattered on my windshield and obscured the lane assist camera's view. After cleaning it off when I got home the warning went away.

I had this error tons of times on my '19 Sr5 : most time in winter driving when roads are slushy , or weather built up snow/slush/ice accumulation on the Toyota crest on the grill, the sensor is just behind !

Other time's while working on the truck with the grill removed... Check the connector : there is a small panel on the grill ( driver side )you can remove with your finger , the sensor connector is right there : Maybe the sensor connector is just un-plugged or loosely connected and cause the error !

All of the above are spot on and the most commons issues I have on mine as well.

Another known issue is if someone is trying to install tow mirrors and/or relocating the blind spot monitoring to the sail panels with either a wrong resistance LED or without a resistor.

So- not sure if this will work for everyone but my truck was getting the pre collision issues constantly whenever the truck would see rain or snow. Then after a year or so of owning the truck, I was having issues randomly on a weekly basis without any conditions that would normally cause it.

I took my grille off, removed the sensor from the grille and cleaned the sensor itself with MAF sensor cleaner. I have yet to have issues now in almost 3 months and seen plenty of weather and conditions that used to otherwise cause issues for me. Just something I decided to try that seemed to work for me really well
