2018 Tundra - Who has one?

Hey , im new to this forum i came from a 08' trail team fj and 2wks ago i just purchased a 18' sr5 tundra crewmax with trd package, sr5 upgrade pkg, convenience pkg, entune navigation pkg, tri fold torneau cover , side board, added katzskin leather interior from a third party and now looking to get a cement bulg and end caps.... orig i wanted to paint match them but the two autobody paint shops wont paint over the chrome so now ill ask roman for parts or advice on how to delete the chrome accents in the front.

Did the pringles come standard or is that a Mod you added,

 

Tip, bring pringles when u go to the dealership, bc there will be a lot of waiting

 

Mines is a sr5, not limited. I just added/upgraded a lot of options

Looks good. That interior looks factory! Actually better lol. Is that real leather? Those wheels fit well also. Very nice choices. I’m sure you have more plans for it in the future...

 

So far... no tire rub at all. I have read some other posts about plastic pieces people have either cut or removed for tire fit. I haven't looked in the wheel wells to see what they did... or maybe what they removed. I'll do that soon and report back.

I think they de-badged my truck. I thought it came that way... but see other Platinums with the standard badges I was used to from my '12. I was ready to Plasti Dip them all black... so I'm actually happy they aren't there. Looks better IMHO. Because of this... I wouldn't be surprised if they tinkered with the plastic in the wheel well. I might need to check out a stock truck to see what it's all supposed to look like.

 

Truck looks great! The Pringles are great and those Katzskins look fantastic! HA!

 

All parts are on their way. Also thinking about doing the 18 sr5 honeycomb grill vice the limiteds.

 

Thats awesome, i had some tire rub with the front mud flaps, i had removed them and problem was solves.

 

Where did you ordee your parts ? And do u mind sharing the price if its not from roman ?

 

I didn't know you could get a logo embossed into the Katzkins. This is exactly what I want.

 

Working with Micah from sparks as they are close enough for me to just pick up. Hope to save on cost this way.

 

Now that you mention it... I THINK my front mud flaps are not there. I think I noticed that when I was poking around the other day adding the bed liner. I know I've got the rear flaps... but pretty sure the fronts are gone. I'll confirm later.

One downfall with buying it from the dealer this way is not knowing exactly what they did or didn't do. They wouldn't hack on the frame (like I saw in another thread)... or do anything crazy to a brand new truck to risk the sale... but I could definitely see them discarding a set of mud flaps without hesitation.

 

If you could get a 1794 in Cement, I would. That color is pretty cool. Although Tundrastic's ride looks pretty awesome also. Decisions decisions......

 

I'm not sure if you knew that the Cement color is not available in a 1794? The Cement is a cool color too... but I have wanted a "graphite gray" colored Tundra for eons... just always got great deals on other colors. I scanned in the color/combo page from the 2018 Tundra brochure for you. My vote is for MGM... LOL!

What I meant to say was, if the Cement color was available on the 1794, that's the color I would choose. Sadly, it is not. I have nothing negative to say about MGM. It was going to be my color choice, but my current ride is that color, and I've never had a vehicle in a color like Smoked Mesquite. It's different, so I'm going with it. But if there was ever a Tundra that could sway me back to MGM, it's yours.

Thanks! I actually like that Smoked Mesquite color too... because it IS different! It will look great with the 1794 seats. I like browns with tans/browns and grays with blacks. The MGM is a common color... but like you... I've never had a vehicle in that color. How much longer do you have to wait?

 

Ugh, I really wanted to have it by Christmas, but that doesn't seem likely. Hopefully not too long after the first of the year.

 

They say patience is a virtue... I'd have a hard time waiting that long too if I pulled the trigger.

 

I like that grille, it just needs blacked out. Several on here have coated the grille like that in bed liner and it looks mean

 

Anybody know when the Tundra coming with hood scoop come out or seen one with? Like the photos that were out before it was for sale

 

I was at dealer today getting 5k service done and saw 2018s in person for first time. I like the grille but they need a color matched surround. Dealer had red tag sale going on. Some sale. 2wd was more than $1k more than my 4wd. Dealer options included tint, door edge protection, and nitrogen for $888 extra. Description on nitrogen listed improved MPGs. I wondered if true how long is the payback?
