@Tundra1078 sorry about the late response but the OEM toyota fender flares utilize existing holes so no drilling is required...was on the fence about the flares but seeing them in person made me a believer highly recommend them

nice, just waiting for the tundra sport to get more mainstream so I can order color matched door handles and mirror caps cheaper than 500-600 for a complete set.

seems the non standard mainstream colors are not offered for those just yet like the 8T0 color code is an additional $250 to color match currently.

At sparksparts they have the color matched mirror and door handles for $311 at least for the colors they have in stock. Going to be my next project.

yeah I checked them, they want another $250 for the blazing blue matched set. that's why I said for the primary mainstream colors its cheaper.

    This guy!
I've owned a 2009, a 2014 and now a 2018 Tundra. I have to say this is my favorite thus far. I love the new instrumentation. The digital speedometer sold me :D

I bought your twin brother last Monday in concord, NC. I decided to buy a full sized truck last year and have done a lot of research on the different brands. I was originally planning on buying a F150 Lariat 3.5l ecco boost. I was blinded by all the bells and whistles that Ford offers. I loved the twin panel moonroof but I didn't trust it not to leak. But why would I trust Ford to build me a truck when I didn't think they could design a moonroof that wouldn't leak. Luckily, I found what I think is the best full sized truck on the market...2018 Platinum Tundra. I love the simplicity of the trucks design and options and the obvious superior build quality.

This is a super sweet Platinum. As a matter of fact...I saw this truck at Toyota of Concord several weeks ago. It was the first 18 Platinum that I'd seen at this dealership this year. I, of course, pulled in to take a peek and was quickly told it was already sold. DANG IT!!!! So I ordered a white one and picked it up last Monday....I absolutely love this truck.

That was my truck you saw! I was between White and Magnetic Grey. Very happy with my choice, although your White does look good. I traded a 2014 F150 FX4 3.5 ecoboost mostly for long term reliability concerns as I drive 30k a year. Shockingly I’m getting similar overall MPG with the Tundra.

I know that was your truck, how crazy is that. I would have bought your truck had it been available. I'm thrilled to hear your getting similar MPG in comparison to the 3.5l Ecco boost.

I’m getting 17+ on the highway and 16 overall. I was getting 16.5 overall in the Ford. I’ll give up a bit for the reliability over the F150

Absolutely! I was tempted to get a 3.5 Ecco boost but down deep I didn't trust Ford build quality. I have a friend who works for a automotive parts manufacturer. He always complains about Toyota rejecting parts at incoming inspection. He says Ford never rejects parts. This tells me a lot.

Thanks bud. I tried finding a 2017 TRD pro in cement with no luck. Dissapointed toyota put the trd pro on hold.

How hard was it to swap the grill out? I have a limited and am thinking about ordering the pro grill and swapping it out.

Pretty easy swap just make sure both grilles are at room temp or better. I used a heat gun on low and quickly passed over the tabs as I unclipped them starting from the top on both sides and worked my way to the middle. Just unplug your TSS from the top and it all stays together in one piece. Just do not turn your truck on while the sensors are unhooked.

Edit: If your just swapping the entire grill and not the inserts not difficult at all like 4 10mm bolts on top, 2 tabs, and 2 clips to undo near the bumper

Seeing as the 2018 sport has honeycomb grille with TSS built in it would be easy just to swap the entire grille unless you like your limited insert. The TSS is mounted directly behind the toyota emblem. I would say if you wanted to modify a pro grille you could cut and modify the toyota lettering i took the badge off the honeycomb and tried orienting it on the toyota emblem seeing where I could cut and attach it I just didnt think it would look good.

You would have to cut the Y and O out in the shape of the emblem and grind down an inlay on the out side edges to flush mount the emblem and just pre drill and attach with small screws. Would say
TO ( ) TA. Or remove the entire inside toyota lettering insert and find some plastic that resembles the lower of the grille and attach it to the sides of the sensor and mount it in there but would still need to grind down an inlay for the toyota emblem. I just saw it as to much hassle and the honeycomb looks aggresive as is

yeah i won't be cutting the current pro grille ... was hoping toyota would come out with their own newer version of it.. if not i'll do the honeycomb.. wish they had the surround with the honeycomb in cement.. save me a step and not chance breaking the tabs i hear about..(i tend to break stuff lol)

Just use applicable amounts of heat (but not to much) and take your time swapping the honeycomb insert. Currently the honeycomb color matched grille is not offered in cement

Is there anyway to custom mount the TSS emblem without taking out the letters of Toyota on the pro grille?

I will look when I get home there is space below the toyota lettering to cut and mount it but I think the harness wiring was just a bit to short to reach that mounting location. After seeing the hassle of moving stuff around and relocating I decided not to turn it into a project and was happy with the honeycomb grille.

Thank you. Hopefully there is enough harness wiring to work with.
