Copy that. Again, I'm like you in that I'll go with the flow, and don't like being taken advantage of. It burns. We are all thankful for your sharing the situation; it helps us know better how to move forward should we have this problem. Hope it all turns out OK.

Interesting. On the 8th, I was told there was. I might have to go back again and see what's up? Did you have it done??

Parts are expected by days end on the 21st. I will then. They will have me sign some waivers.

Just keep digging. But, it's like I said, they may not want to do it...

I would ask them to restart the warranty period to the day they supposedly fixed your truck. You would be getting all the mileage and time back so to say. I think toyota might go for that because thats fair.

I’ve had some of the same experiences as others although not as persistent as some. Maybe only 5-6 times since I bought my rig in October and thus haven’t taken it in to the dealership to complain. Mostly because it just seems to resolve itself and I just chalked it up to something over the sensors (ie, rain, snow, etc.).

I greatly appreciate all of the detailed information that everyone has shared. I’ve got my first service scheduled for next week so I’ll definitely mention it. Who knows, maybe they won’t take the “fake news” approach.

Toyota corporate called me yesterday and left message to call back. Now I am waiting to hear back from case manager either later today or tomorrow. Not to be a pessimist but I can’t see Toyota being willing to admit fault in this matter and help me determine whether this is an lemon or not. Would seem like a conflict of interest. This should be interesting

I have a 4” Tuff Country lift on my 2018 truck with 33’s and have not yet experienced any malfunction. I do only have 3,800 miles on it-but so far so good *fingers crossed.

Nothing of help for any problems happening but just want to say that me personally I would not buy a truck with any of these safety systems and if that was my only choice I would have the entire system deleted. Lol! Fuck that shit. Lol.

2018 tindra crew max 1794 edition 1000 miles . pcs issue at 500 miles. took it in and they re calibrated. it was fine for 3 weeks then back again. told that field tach has my info, but there is no fix for it. they asked if I did any off roading, which I guess they think would knock sensor out? I mentioned possible replacement of ecu and was told " toyota" would not just throw money at trying different things unless it was proven to be the fault. i just made my first payment and really dont feel like paying any more payments until they resolve this. I dont want to just pay for something it it is not as advertised.

I received a phone call back from Toyota corporate office and we spoke for approximately 45 minutes. He told be that had read through the notes in the case and spoken with service manager at the dealership. Rep tells me that the system shows record that there are only 3 times my truck was in fair this specific repair. However, he added that the service manager did state that there was an additional time (fourth repair attempt) that I brought truck back in right after a previous repair.
After listening some more to my concerns, I ask him to clarify exactly what it is that his involvement in this matter. He essentially is a liaison between myself and the dealership. I explain that I really am dissatisfied with the dealership and feel that they could have resolved this without the need for my having to involve corporate. I explain to him that I still don’t know if it’s fixed bc I haven’t driven it much since the repair. He explains the options that I have in this matter. Choice A, I am told that I can continue and try to work with Toyota (via him) and give it some more time to see if this problem is fixed and quite likely be compensated for my inconvenience or choice B, I can have him initiate the process to determine if my truck is indeed a lemon under the laws in Virginia. From my understanding, this would take approximately 30-45 days and this decision is made by Toyota. Compensation would quite possibly consist of extended warranty for free.

At first I was leaning towards choice B but after asking a few additional questions I decided that I would at least try to keep working with Toyota at least for another few weeks since this guy was actually empathetic. We agreed for him to call me back on March 1 as I will have had more of an opportunity to drive it around more. I specifically asked if I could still pursue choice B even if the PCS doesn’t malfunction between now and then and he says yes. I asked what happens if in 6 months the very same issue with the PCS starts acting up again and he tells me then to contact him.

Choice B also seems like it would be an extremely big hassle and add to inconvenience. I told him that if the truck is indeed completely fixed then I would most likely want to keep it bc I really like the truck except for this issue. The fact that Toyota would be making this decision seems to me like this would be a conflict of interest as the decision made could very possibly be biased. I told this to the representative too. I plan on driving my truck as much as possible over the next week until I receive a call back from corporate. We will see what happens but it’s nice to finally have my concerns listened to and some empathy shown in this matter.

I am so glad you called. My truck is back in the shop at another dealership as the one I bought the truck from stated after the 2nd fix to not bring the truck back to there dealership. So I called corporate myself. It does seem bias for Toyota to make the final decision on if there own product was a "Lemon". This will be my 3rd time the law states 3X times is all I need. They will be sending someone out to further investigate my new truck while I pay the big note and drive a small can car...NOT FAIR. I am speaking with an attorney today to see what my options are at this point. I bought my truck in Mississippi and will not recommend anyone to that dealership. Once they get there money, your like dirt on the bottom of there shoe.

The lady at the corporate did seem to have empathy but If I wanted a can car I would have bought one. I just want my money back and going to buy what I should have from the beginning a CHEVY!!!!
Ya know we make 2 big purchases in our life times, a new house and a new vehicle and for the cost they should be enjoyed not stressed over day after day after day!!!
I did not want to go this route but I feel corned with now escape. Hope all works out for you and your new truck.

How can it be a 2nd "fix" if it isn't fixed, and why would they tell you not to bring it back if it isn't fixed??

Enjoy the Chevy shake. :) Only 900+ pages of threads on the Chevy forums for Silverado's shaking. No big deal there.

I mean what else can I do but get another truck at this point? The recall stated RISK FOR CRASH, how would that work? What if you have a camper pulling behind you? What happens if your on the interstate and a 18 wheeler is behind you and your truck slams brake, oh ya like mine already did but THANK THE LORD I was behind the 18 wheeler because if not I would not be typing this message. So what other option do I have here? I ask for a 2017 model and was told there were no more so like....

My '18 just started having the PCS issue after I took the truck in to have the airbag ECM update performed. It has randomly come on/off 4-5 times in the past week.

Yes that is the problem and when it is in the OFF mode and you don't see it or know your vehicle will just brake it self all the way down to 32 miles an hour, it is so scary. Need to call 1/800/331/4331 and get you a case number with a case manager to document. There are so many out there, I hoping Toyota don"t wait till someone gets killed before doing something. There is a recall date 02/20/2018 for airbag sensor assembly software update. I have done it all and still comes on. It is scary to drive!

How long did it take for the dealer to do the Airbag sensor update? Thanks in advance.

That is scary and I would agree there is an issue. Hopefully Toyota can get this resolved quickly.

Just noticed the posts regarding the safety recall for 2018 tundras. My truck is barely a month old and it’s bad enough that I already have had to take it in 8 times for PCS issue but now I have to take it back in bc of the safety recall! I went to the website and entered my vin number and got the following results “One or more items are ready for repair. Please click the button below to locate a dealer to schedule your service now.”
I am still in the process of seeing whether or not the PCS issue is fixed and now I have to deal with having to take the truck in for another issue already?! The guy from corporate never mentioned anything about this the other day and all this does is add to the continued disappointment of owning this truck. Really glad I purchased a new vehicle instead of one that was 5 years old. Might be better off letting them take it back and then buying a used one.
