    Hey folks,
I just installed a new Alpine H/U with Carplay and now the COMPASS on the display between the gauges isn't working along with the page that displays the song, title, etc.

I understand that the song information may not display, but the compass not displaying is throwing me a curve-ball. Any ideas gents? Thank you in advance for any help.

I am new to this forum, thank you for accepting me!

Welcome to a great forum, great bunch of Tundra folks here.

As far as your compass not displaying anymore I would think that the dash display gets some of the information from the OEM head unit since it contains all the GPS functions and the GPS antenna is connected to it.

Did you use a Maestro or ID Data Link adapter? I am asking because that is what I used in a previous truck when I used a Kenwood GPS unit and everything was still working (it was a 2012 F-150).

I used a CRUX wiring harness bought through Crutchfield.

Then I would contact Crutchfield and ask them WTF?

Called Crutchfield and Toyota. They confirmed its normal. Using a Crux harness with the 2918 tundra loses the compass. No worries, the one if the rear view mirrors still works. Thanks for the help guys!

Can you clarify? What would the user manual tell me regarding this issue?

Gotcha. There’s nothing in the manual/YouTube about it, but thank you for the advice.

Just to clarify, everything works great on the Alpine, it’s just the compass on the dash display next to the speedo doesn’t work.

I guess RTFM wouldn’t apply since it hasn’t nothing to do with head unit. But thanks for the thoughtful insight

There were just a couple of small toggles on the bottom of the module, but that’s all.

Actually wasn't much insight at all. Although I'm fairly certain the head unit should have a manual or manufacturers info online that could help.

    None. Keeping this one stock.
That sucks. Sure there is a work around or something.

On page 100 of the '18 Tundra owners manual, it seems to indicate that the Compass feature on the multi-information (gauge cluster) display is linked to the factory nav system just like the Route Guidance instructions from the factory nav. That probably means you lose that feature with the aftermarket deck.
