I have a 2018 TRD Offroad that I put a TRD PRO grille on. I followed this ( https://www.tundras.com/threads/2018-tundra-tss-successfully-relocated-to-trd-pro-grille.19726/ ) to relocate the TSS radar. The first drive, about an hour, I had no issues. Later that night on a drive, about an hour and a half, my pre-collision malfunction alert came on and the pre-collision icon was flashing. It didn't stop until I turned off the truck and restarted it. On my way back home, only the icon came on and stayed on. No alert or malfunction. Same thing today. The grille is clean. The radar cruise control also did not work while the icon was on.

Is there a way to possibly reset the radar? Any help is appreciated.

That sucks, was thinking about doing this mod but I’m skeptical. I’ll probably wait to see if they come out with the pro grille that will take the TSS

Torc auto (tundraoffroad) on instagram is selling trd pro grills with a fabb'd bracket for the sensor. He says zero issues so far on all the ones they have sold- unfortunately he wont sell just the bracket or even send photos.

Maybe the sensor is positioned wrong (i.e. not at 90 degrees to the pavement) and you can try to shim it. If I were you I would contact the OP of the thread linked in the first reply, maybe he can help since his is working.

I know. I already asked him for a picture of the bracket. I'm going to have to mess around with it this weekend and try to figure it out before I take it to the dealership. I know they'll give me crap for having the pro grille.

Yea me too since I have a pro grill. He doesn't really share any information, which i get but at the same time I think is pretty lame. He wouldnt fill me in on how they mounted a set of rigid d2's in a fab fours bumper and told me to drive to utah and he would do it..... told him I already had the bumper and the lights. Put a sour taste in my mouth and made me not really want to do biz with the guy. At the same time he is protecting what he does, but still

It won’t work right if you offset it behind plastic like he did. You can lower it, so it is visible, and your dealer(if they are flexible) can recalibrate it on your dime. The new pro grille has a semi-opaque panel mounted in the grille, lowered bellow the Toyota script. In a nutshell, sensor needs mounted on vehicle centerline - it interacts in certain conditions in tandem with the camera(cannot be calibrated if offset), the system can be recalibrated - if you show up with something dumb..., and finally look at your emblem - it is a very sensitive system and needs the opacity incorporated in the design.

No, it will not be released till after the Pro is available. Here it is, part 1C is the sensor cover.

No it’s not, you can lower it in a pro grille, just can’t go off centerline, or hide behind anything. Once lowered it depends on the calibration. Usually the parameters are wide enough, sometimes not requiring re calibration.

Interesting, I’ve been told you can stash it behind the plastic in the lower grill as well. Here is my predicament, my fab fours bumper has a pre runner guard that goes right in front of the sensor. If I moved it down, I would lose my lower light bar (swapping for a 30in on the new truck). Think it would work in the upper section of the grill? Any other crazy ideas, I.e. bracket on the bumper to hold it in place?

Update...I brought the sensor to the bottom part of the grille. It's been like this for over a week with no issues.
I don't think being behind the plastic affects it. Being off-center seemed like it was the issue.

I used the original hardware holding it to the honeycomb grille. I JB welded the nuts onto the new grille and bolted the sensor onto them.

So you put it in the bottom inside the surround portion? Still working good for you?

I just talked to the company, they quoted me $895 for the entire grille/bulge and the bracket or $250 for just the bracket. I really like the grille, but $250 is a bit steep for me.

That's pretty steep. Just do it the way I did it. It's been about a month with zero issues. Works just like the factory setup. You'll spend a few bucks on epoxy and find some washers laying around.

I used two of these brackets, don’t remember what size bolt and nylon nuts (length was 3”). Just make a quick run to hardware store when you are ready to do it.

JB well sounds better than a 240$ bracket

Hey guys. Can you Clear this up for. I swapped from honey comb grill to the Trd pro grill. Meanwhile I just have the sensor unplugged obviously I have the haZard always on in my dash. Are you remounting it JUST to make the alarm go away?

I got a cement surround and TRD grille and reinstalled my 2019 honeycomb grill insert to avert the TSS issues. The TSS garnish $$ and relo bracket issues scared me off.
