    I see your point but at the same time with the engine issues of the 3rd Gen its the same thing in my mind with your issues with the 2500 but worse since you can't limp it or drive a blown engine 3rd Gen tundra. With my truck usage with towing it will last for me. The best truck to have for reliability then is any Tundra before the 3rd Gen.
