Use a long Phillips along that shaft to align them. You don’t need direct behind access

As @Taco-Spike mentioned you don’t need to have access to the plastic gear to level your headlights just use a long Phillips screwdriver but I see a small problem in your picture #2 and you tucked the harness in that place blocking the channel for the Phillips screwdriver, not a big deal but take care in that part to avoid damage to the wiring

Thank you again @iHacker! Got my LED headlights installed on my 2015 tonight. Such an easy install with the harness!!

1 question to everyone who has done this though…anyone have a misalignment on the two plastic push clips on the outside top of your grill compared to your headlight? I had to push in on the side of my headlights to get the hole to the headlight to align. Got them both installed but don’t remember them not being lined up when they popped out.

Maybe make sure the harness wires aren't pinched somewhere behind the headlight- causing that slight misalignment.

No misaligned issues reported, and I never had this problem with the installations I have made personally, check for pinched wires as @UTAHRTK mentioned or if your truck has ever been in an accident and repaired that could be a reason for this issue too.

Checked harness and no previous accidents reported, looks good there, it’s happening on both lights….curious if it’s because they are the TYC CAPA lights….got them from a buddy who works at a repair shop brand new at cost…seems they may be misaligned a little

Ohhh that could be a reason as well, I know the TYC headlights don’t have any difference in the wiring but not sure about a perfect fitment but must be really close to OEM headlights fitment

Yeah the wiring was perfect and your harness plugged in perfectly….I bet the mounting points on the TYC are slightly off since they aren’t as good as the Toyota OEMs. Oh well, just wanted to check if anyone else had the same issue, I appreciate the insight on this!

Thanks @iHacker - Another VERY satisfied customer! And I appreciate the education on how the Emergency Brake works with the DRL's! Never realized that with the Ambers but now I will never forget! :) Fogs tomorrow along with new Predator steps. Then a break until Xmas when I get my new DiamondBack cover.

Just got my headlights in, going to install sometime this week but wondering how many of you had good headlight alignment out of the box? I got the TRD pro headlights, and a TRD pro front lift so wondering if they'll be good to go. can't wait.

The headlights arrive close to be perfectly aimed and sometimes require just a tiny adjustment, when installed mine I remember the driver side was on spot and just a little adjustment in the passenger side mine was I little bit low on the passenger side

Second time I've done this mod with @iHacker 's harness and it worked perfectly again as expected (bright mode all the time, amber delete, gloss black TRD pro housing). High quality harness, fast shipping, great communication. If you're on the fence, just pull the trigger. IMO it's the best front end aesthetic and functional mod for these trucks.

I just used his harness to put 2020 LED headlights from a 1794 into my 2016 SR5 and it worked perfect. I did the dimming option.

IHacker- I have a 2020 Tundra SR5. Came with DRL strip. I just purchased the TRD pro LED’s from sparks parts. I was under the impression that I didn’t need a new harness if my truck had the DRL’s starting in 2020. Can you clarify?
