For those that have removed and reinstalled the grill, did you have to have the radar re calibrated?

I’ve never heard of this, Like for something as simple as changing the headlight bulbs? What am I missing?

I removed my grill, put led bulbs in, and put it all back together awhile ago with no issue

I am planning on ordering the Toyota led headlamp assemblies, the dealership claims that I will need to have the radar re calibrated when I remove the grill.

I see. Sounds like bs to me, I’ve taken mine apart twice. But by all means please do not take my word for it :anonymous:

Ha...dealership...I'd put it back together and let it ride, I've taken mine off 3 times and no issue. They probably dont know how to actually do it anyway.

I havent removed a '16 but assume it's the same however pop the little panel of the top to the right of the hood latch and disconnect the radar cable before you try to pull it away from the truck

Nope no need to recalibrate, took the grille off to replace headlights with the led pro the other day. Sensor works just fine

Watch some youtube videos. Throbbnation does a pretty good one. The only hard part is not breaking the plastic pieces when trying to remove the emblem with the radar in it. In the video he broke his and I also broke mine. They aren't necessary as mine held in just fine without them.
Other than that, just remove all tabs and unplug the radar. Mine took about 30 minutes to swap the grill and 10 for the bulge and I'm no mechanic.

Just use a flat screwdriver and small hammer. Rap the push nut edge and it will raise the opposite edge. Use pliers as if to unscrew it. It will pop off and you can hammer it flat for reinstallation
