the Tundra was acting up after a quick fuel up when a steady service light appeared !Really slow acceleration and realativiely hard to start! They pulled the code and found an o2 sensor bad, although they do not believe that's the problem. Now 3 days to get an O2 sensor........

    Welcome!

Sorry to hear about the problems. That seems a little long to get a common part.

If you still have it, be sure to keep that fuel receipt.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a fuel issue based on that info.

I’m thinking it’s directly fuel related

I'm agreeing with fuel. Did you fuel up at a place you don't normally? Wouldn't be the first time that somehow a gas station got water into the storage tank.

No, it's a new place but have fueled there a couple times. Also, double checked the receipt and it said unleaded fuel so.......

Or the station’s bulk tank could be full of diesel / water / other contamination. It’s happened.

Not saying it’s for sure bad fuel, just keep that receipt until after the dust has settled. It could be your only hope of reimbursement if a fuel issue is found to be the cause. And maybe it’s not.

So... you guys are spot on!!!! Found out the guy who filled the tanks crossed the hoses!!!!!! Yes, when we got gas we filled up on diesel fuel. The situation was all over the news and we have filed a claim and got a claims adjuster for our case. So far the bill is at $4800 and still rising unknown if the engine was hurt! Glad be brought it straight to a Toyota dealership!

That seems pretty high, but it adds up quick.

That little receipt showing regular unleaded is pretty much a winning lottery ticket in your hand.

Keep us posted. The good news is that internal engine damage is a very low possibility from burning diesel in a gas engine.

Put some in early model Suburban ranch truck once. Not fuel injected model. Sounded like a diesel for a while. No permanent damage. It was probably just a couple of gallons diluted by what was already in the tank.

That really sucks!!! Someone not paying attention to what they are doing and it messes with a whole bunch of people and their vehicles that they had to work hard to afford them!! Now their lives are in turmoil for a couple weeks and they have to worry how much, will it get fixed, do they have to go to court to get a new vehicle, and are they going to get paid for the inconvenience?? the whole thing just sucks!! Sorry it happened to you and everyone else!! Seems like more and more people really don’t care about the performance of their jobs!!!

You are correct, alot of people don't care about the quality of work they do, just there to collect a pay check. And the younger generation is getting worse. I work with a couple of guys, early 20's and they don't give a shit, when they do actual work. Most of the time they are too busy on their damn phones.
