I started looking about 3 weeks ago. I found one in Southern California listed at MSRP and exchanged a few emails, but didn't want to drive all the way down just yet. The only dealership near me that had one in stock was advertising it for MSRP, but when I got there was surprised by an extra sticker on the window with a $16,500 dealer markup. Yes, that comma is in the right place. Needless to say, I didn't buy that one.
I then went to my local dealership and talked to a really nice sales guy that I had previously had conversation with about Tacomas. They didn't have one allocated yet and I was told that when they do get one, they won't be allowed to sell it for less than $5000 over MSRP. I was starting to think a TRDPro just wasn't going to happen. He was nice enough to print out the dealer daily list of all of the trucks in California that were either on the lot or in freight status, that matched the configuration that I wanted.
I started calling dealerships in order of distance from me. The fourth one down the list wasn't spoken for yet and they were pricing it at MSRP, so I immediately had them take a deposit. It arrived on Friday and I picked it up on Saturday.
Some dealerships are asking ridiculous prices, but there are others that are just fine selling for MSRP.

@GodlessPro Got them down to $500 below MSRP, to throw in a spray-in bedliner, provide new tires at cost and get a leather wrapped steering wheel at cost as well.

Several Pros in DFW area at $1-$2k+ off MSRP. No sense in letting these dealers rip you off.

haven't picked tires yet. Any suggestions? Keeping the stock suspension and not looking for anything too extreme.

Cooper ST Maxx if you off road at all. I have a set sitting in my garage waiting to go on my Tacoma. Discount Tire had a great labor day sale and my BFGs are getting close so I ordered them along with some AT3s for daughters Liberty. Between the 2 sets I got $275 in rebates. I have been looking at the ST Maxx's for many months just waiting to see a rebate or sale price. Guy I talked to at Discount said they never offer rebates on the ST Maxx so when they did I jumped on them.

For a TRD Pro? It looks like you have a Limited, which I would absolutely expect dealers to make deals on.

Sounds like about 2-3 thousand under MSRP I swear a good deal. I can build a crewmax for 47200 in my region so I'm going to try and get the dealer down to 44 even. Wish me luck.

I think it is regional. There is one on Auto Trader in DFW area for like $2500 off and a couple of others that have discounts. Now are the advertised trucks actually sitting on the dealers lot, who knows? I have seen the bait & switch in action.

$2000 under MSRP? To date I have not heard of anyone acquiring a PRO for 2K under MSRP. Take it and run. Paid 48k for mine. Sticker had it at 49,200. Dealership added the predator steps, LED bed lights, spray on bed liner and some kind of rear USB package for my back seat passengers.

2k off is a good deal. Now I'm not sure a friend told me the 2018 will be a complete redesign. I know if I order a Pro and then next year this time see a new model/redesign rolling around I'll be pissed i didn't wait. Especially since we all know Toyota only does the redesign every 10 years or so.

Problem with a redesign is if the demand is high the dealers will price them like they tried to do with the Gen3 Tacomas. The prices people paid early on for the new Tacomas was crazy. Since we are only 9 months away from the 2018s hitting the lots I think we would have heard more by now if there was a redesign.

That's very true. I bought my 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport for 32500. Same truck in the 2017 is close to 40.

Any word at all about a redesign ? I google it and nothing comes up.

Not sure if that specific dealer works with Truecar. I would try Truecar first which you can do on the website or mobile. I bought my Tundra using Truecar which lets me know how much are people paying the the vehicle. However, I'm in CA and mine is not a PRO. It's just another resource if you're interested in trying.

I just got a call my local dealer will take 3k off if he can locate a 2017 once they start to hit lots. He said there should be several pros going out and they plan to get at least 3 he's just not sure on colors. I should be good to go if i decide to pull the trigger.

Put down a deposit. Just go ahead and do it, that way if they get one it's yours. I searched for a few weeks and put a deposit on one to get it.
