I’m eyeing a 2017 Tundra 4.6L 2WD. What concerns me is it has 157k miles on it. I don’t know the history on the truck. Most would say this is not high mileage but it’s an average of 39k miles in a year. The price is $25k. Should I be concerned? Is this a good buy?

For a 4.6L and 2wd with 157k miles, $25k is completely ridiculous. Even in this market. Walk away.

That truck probably barely cost $30k new.

I picked up a 2014 4.6 Crewmax 4x4 with 85k miles for $24,500 before TTL in WA State one year ago. Honestly, I’m not sure if it was a great deal or not…but it seemed like a good deal (first truck). It’s not today’s market, but it gives you a reference point. Truck came with new tires, hitch, bed liner, and brake controller.

I think you have found a truck with mostly highway miles which is good unless it was mostly towing, look at wear on the hitch safety chain loops. Also look at wear of rubber on the brake pedal to determine if it was city miles. If me, I would find a 5.7, better engine. New two wheel drive trucks at Fowler Toyota Norman Oklahoma right now. Sales manager there is Hugh.
