Maybe it’s just me but when I bought my 2018 tundra one of the things I liked it didn’t have all the gimmicks that ford, dodge, or Chevy did I liked the fact it was simple and had only necessary features, like lane departure, navigation and a few other small things. I find myself in my wife’s Lexus overwhelmed with all the features.

Problem with Sport is even the 4x4s have smallish crappy street tires. I thought new Raptors just have the 3.5 Ecoboost. Ford dropped the bigger motor last year I believe. Toyota could add a supercharger but not every Pro wants to pay the upcharge. A different tune on 5.7 would be fine with me. One request I would have on Pro is a true AT or even mild MT. Maybe a tire option. Michelin does not make a very aggressive tire. Raptors are nice until you price one. Way over priced. Plus they are a Ford and everyone knows what Ford stands for.

Are you just talking about looks or performance? Or both?

My tire choice is not for looks. It is for performance. If my truck was a pavement queen I would put Michelin ATs or some other non aggressive AT lIke a Cooper AT3. There is no sense (in my mind) to put an aggressive tire on a truck that never leaves the pavement. The exception is where it snows. Aggressive tires are typically heavier, don't perform as well on pavement especially in rain, and don't last as long.

Makes me think, What Toyota’s cost to actually produce a tundra vs what they sell it for? Crazy mark ups and I’m struggling to get 20k trade in for my 2014 off-road with 46k miles. Thieves! I hate corporate America

I feel the same about all the extra "features". I like everything but my phone dumb lol. The only gadget I wanted in my truck is GPS since I drive all over the place every day.

Norcal dealer wants $9,998 over for a Taco TRDP too!

Another dealer’s reply about a wait list for 2019 Tundra TRDP.
”It will be here in the next 4-5 months and we will sell it 15k Mark up over MSRP.

I can reserve one for you at 10k Deposit.”

I get the demand, but dam people let dealers sit on it. Give your business to others out of state base on principals. Gouged prices are just out of this world.

wow that is just stupid. the sad thing is i bet someone will pay it. Like others said if people stand up and say no to that type of price inflation eventually it stops.

Problem is that will never happen on these trucks. Some tool will walk in and buy it no questions asked. Especially where I live money is no object. To some of my clients 48K is like $48.00 to you and I.

15 over MSRP on a 19 pro is a heavily optioned Raptor. Or a discounted Tundra Platinum/1794 with all of the Pro hardware minus the bed stamp, but plus a supercharger.

So, someone who has enough money to consider $48K to be $48 is a "tool"? If I could buy a Pro for $48 I'd have at least three.

I think it was relatively speaking...
If you make 100-150k a year, the 48k is 30-50% of your income...

These guys make 3-5million a year and their "PRO" is the collector's $2 million rare Ferrari that we would say is "crazy" ...all relative.

$48k for a used Pro is crazy only if you can't afford it.

Yep i hear ya.... New Pro's where i live were going for just under 80k (canadian) and now some used are on the markets in the mid 60's..... i paid MUCH less for mine new from a dealer. A lot of people have more money then sense. I mean i don't care how others spend their cash but thats a bad decision. Its also harder to get financing on a used vehicle and a higher interest rate so the used ones are sitting on the market for a long time as well

yep it apparently was a tough process to get them originally and some dealers were charging 15k or more over msrp and people were paying but it seems those people are gonna have a tough time selling and not take a massive hit.

Geez I couldn't imagine seeing a markup of 10-15k just because it's a pro. Makes me happy to live on the East Coast. We don't always get the latest and greatest but cost of living is a lot cheaper and the vehicles don't really get a markup. I don't know how many Tundra Pros are around since I haven't looked too many for them, but I do know I saw some last year when the 17s were out. Didn't see any markups on them. The Tacoma Pros are still plentiful with zero markup and can actually see them priced below MSRP from the get go.

    https://www.stevensontoyota.com/vehicle-details/new-2018-toyota-tacoma-trd-pro-5TFCZ5AN6JX150729

This is just one but AutoTrader shows plenty more within the 100-200 mile radius for MSRP or below. You get your occasional couple thousand higher, but they may include those dealer add ons.

That markup is old news. That truck will sit until they lower the price, especially with the new Pro's righ around the corner. I came across a Black Pro in South Dakota a few weeks back. I had 4700 miles and they sold it for $41k.
