2016 TUNDRA SR5

I HAVE A 2016 TUNDRA SR5. REPLACED WIRING HARNESS, DUE TO SQUIRRELS CHEWING WIRES. THEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. BATTERY IS BRAND NEW. THE ALTERNATOR IS OVERCHARGING BUT NOT GETTING TO BATTERY. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL HELP ME OUT.TIA

 

Welcome from OKC! Blown fuse or bad/missing ground connection. Check all of the fuses, both fuse boxes, 1 under hood, 1 small one way up under the dash above brake pedal and toward the parking brake. Do you have continuity from the alternator housing to the negative battery terminal when testing? I would probably swap around fuses with same rating other fuses while looking them over.

 

ALL THE FUSES ARE GOOD AND RELAYS

 

Have continuity from alt to neg?

 

What happens if you put a jumper cable from engine to neg batt post? That will help diag ground issue.

 

Assuming the truck runs, yes?

 

YES TRUCK RUNS FINE. NO ENGINE LIGHT ON JUST BATTERY. THE GROUNDS ARE GOOD.

 

Have a battery from another vehicle, old battery, or jumper car to try and hook up? Maybe you just have a new defective battery. Not likely, but maybe.
