I know this is Tundras.com, but a lot of us were(06 DC TRDSport) or still are Tacoma owners, so I was wandering if anyone out there is curious as to what the new 2016 Tacoma is going to look like? It is supposed to be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

I am looking forward to what's going to be revealed. I originally was going to get a Tacoma and I still have a soft spot for Taco. It should be exciting to see what's in store.

I also came from a taco. I think they are going to be a bit bigger for '16, like the new Colorado/canyon's. I am not a domestic truck kinda guy, but I do like the look of the new canyon's for a mid size.

As a former Taco owner I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the 2016, granted I'm not sure I'd ever go back to a midsize but who knows.

I also really like the Canyon too. Hopefully the new Taco and eventual new Frontier don't disappoint. Will nice to finally have the midsize segment competitive again.

Toyota has been resting on its laurels for many years because they haven't had any competition in the mid-size truck segment. A re-do of the Tacoma is long over due. I hope they don't disappoint.

yep bank account is running low from it..
They need to make them look more like the hilux's from over seas... Gm Colorado is getting close to a hilux look now. Toyota might be alittle late as always to the playing field.

TacomaHQ has some of the same pics. Not sure if I like it or not, but not going to pass judgment until I see the real thing up close.

The doors are throwing me off . Looks like the styling didn't change but the quarter panels and bedsides did.
The grill with color matched surround isn't bad.

Looks like a good upgrade interior wise. Just traded in a 2014 dbsb for a 2013 tundra, it is hard to see myself doing the switch back to a Tacoma now knowing how much space and comfort difference there is.

Digging the new front as well, the little face lift was overdue. Awesome truck, little more polished now.

Yeah, looks like the cab is the same as 05-15 models and they changed the front end and bed. Interior does look much better. Anybody familiar with the Atkins 3.5Liter engine that is replacing the 4.o?

Revealed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the new 2016 Tacoma will be available with an all-new 3.5-liter V6 Atkinson cycle engine that uses Toyota’s D-4S technology, featuring both direct and port fuel injection. Based on the 3.5-liter V6 in other Toyota applications, the engine is expected to produce roughly 300 HP and 280 lb-ft of torque.

Good video. I notice since toyota and subaru ( Fuji Heavy industry) are together ( toyota owns 18 % i think) that toyota is getting out of the box some with there engine designs now finally...

Fr-s tho is built by subaru not toyota tho..

I have had both Tundra's and Tacoma's and currently drive a Tundra. While I like them both for different reasons, I chuckle at how my Tundra with the 5.7 gets very near the same mileage as my Tacoma got with the 4.0. For me, I will take the room of the Tundra any day since they both get pretty crappy fuel mileage.
