Picked up my SR a few months ago. And wanted to do something with the grill. I was looking at buying a new white painted grill. But I wanted to keep the chrome Toyota center piece. Since it is the only chrome on the truck.

First I removed the grill. It is four pieces. Took about 20 minutes. On the SR the inner grill is black. On the outer pieces are gray. So you need to separate the pieces. The only tricky part was the long guide pin style clips on the outboard sides. After removing the 4 10mm bolts and 2 pop in clips. You need to push down on the outboard guide pin clips. Then pull on the grill to remove.

After removing the grill and hood plastic piece. I separated the black inner pieces. They are not going to be painted. On the hood piece you remove about 10 screws and just pull apart. The lower grill was 4 screws and about 10 push clips. You need to push on the center piece of the clip and pull apart. Just be careful as you work down not to lift the piece to high. As it will break the clips at the other end.

After I got it back from the paint shop. Took about 10 minutes to put it all back together. It just pushed together. And installed the 10 screws and 3 extruder clips. Plus there is about 8 of the small plastic Christmas tree looking clips to install.

A nice upgrade to the appearance of the truck. A little over an hours worth of work. And the 250 they charged to paint the two pieces.

Thanks. Looks like I am all done with the exterior. Black Tundra lettering on the tail gate. Window Tint, Stubby Antenna, TRD Off Road Wheels and the grill. Next comes the stereo.

Nice! I think I'm going with the TRD Pro grill in white, but this is a good option.

I paid a local auto body paint shop 250.00 dollars to do the work. I just drove the truck to a couple places. And said I was paying cash for the work.
