*EDIT, I see @bigoltater bed is off now that I read his follow up post. But, I have read a lot about the axle being off centered

I set an apt with my local dealership for 11/10, they asked that I also call toyota to open a case number which I did, I was put on hold, their bumper music makes you want kill yourself, lol its like they want you to give up and hang up.

I just fixed it myself, pretty easy but still annoying to have to deal with it.

I noticed this on my tacoma a few years back....probably spent an hour measuring the axle to the frame in all multiple locations before i came to the conclusion it was just the bed lmao.
.....I WILL NOT be looking at my tundra to see where its sitting. Lol

Just picked up a 1/2 T55 star point from harbor freight, used my impact wrench, loosened the 6 bed bolts and shifted the bed over. Took some time getting it right though.

I had an apt Thursday but my OCD was picturing some Newby tech and a few car washer kids pushing on my bed on the outside adding waves in the body, aahhhhh no thanks.

Mine is that way too. The plastic bumper steps don't line up well. I'm going to ask about it at next oil change in a couple weeks.

Again, mine turned out to be the cab was out of alignment. Dealership sent me to the best body shop in town. Problem solved.

How do you know if it's the cab or the bed that's out of allignment?

Well went in last week to Toyota and they confirmed my bed is out of alignment by 1/25 of an inch. It's covered to realign my bed, but my spray in bed liner is not covered and would not be resprayed around the bolts. This is the last Toyota product I will be buying ever again. I even tried to see if they would put their crappy fender flares on to protect my paint. They said they would have to charge me what they actually pay and not retail. This is nice but no, QC at the assembly plant needs an over haul and people need to be fired for failing to do there job their.

I agree with you, toyota dropping the ball. Just trying to figure out what you mean by the fender flares? Not sure what that has to do with bed alignment?

I mean that fender flares go out a little bit more than the body, so the tires if they sling something off it won't end up on my paint. It will stay within the wheel well or slightly extended wheel well with the addition of fender flares.

Are you sure it's 1/25th of an inch? That is like 1mm. No one can tell by 1mm.

They said a quarter of an inch, I noticed based off of the rear bumper point of view. Like what was posted above.

And you must have a factory spray in where they sprayed over the bolts?

I feel your frustration, I've owned 6 toyota trucks over the past 20 years so I'm brand loyal. But I have to admit the raptor might make me switch teams.

Yea sorry, I meant 1/4 I was thinking 1/25 out of 1/100. That's the thing they won't, and it shouldn't be needed anyway if the Texas plant personnel did their job.

Yeah, I understand your frustration now. You can't fix it because it'll mess up your bedliner and so you asked for flares instead. I would go argue with them that they were the ones who put the bedliner on over the bolts and if it gets screwed up fixing a warranty issue, they need to redo the bedliner after the bed is re aligned. And that's why Line-x removes the bolts to spray.

What's the number so I can call Toyota what it? And I already did and the owner declined it.

You can also check another dealer to see if they'll cover the spray.

I don't think they have to redo the whole bed. Just quick re-spray around the bolts. Touch up if you will.

Those bed bolts are huge... they're like 1.5". It's going to create 6 huge holes and that factory bedliner is pretty thin. I wonder how well the new bedliner spray will bond with the old bedliner?
